Stockings hung by the chimney with

Mary wants a doll that sings,
Angie wants some bells that ring.

CHRISTMAS IS
By John Philip Bell
With pen in hand
• I.make this request
On this holiday
Let all be blessed
We wrap the gifts
We plan our feast
But let us not forget
The star of the east
His son was born
On that Holy night
To fill our hearts
With total delight.
We ask thee, oh Lord,
On this blessed day,
Show us a sign
Show us the way.
That .we may do good
And help one another,
And treat everybody.
As sister and brother.
I had a rest, I picked up the tree.
But 1 had a real problem now. I was
lost in the woods with my mother's
tree. I was afraid so I just went in an
westerly direction. Eventually I end-
ed up at the home of a man named
Mr, Scrooge.
I walked in and I Saw all this gold,
silver and cooper. I took some of each.
Just then he comae walking in from
getting a Christmas tree, so I hid
behind the door. When he.walked in
I could run out as fast as I could.
When I ran optside, I tried to look for
some of my footsteps. '
When I found some they were
covered with snow, I sat down and
thought. Then I heard a crackling
noise behind me. I turned around and
looked and all I saw was a little fawn
and its mother eating bark off of a
maple tree.
After I got up I tried to find my way
home again. And I did find my way
home. After I was out of the clearing -
it started to get dark. So I had better
get home or I'd be in a lot of trouble.
As soon as I walked in the door my
mother said, "Where have you
been'?" Maid, "1 got lost and I came
to this man's house. "His name was
w
Mr. Scrooge and. he was rich!
Hey Mom what time is it?" "It is
six o'clock." "1'm going out to build
a snowman, and do you want me to do

Merry Christmas is what I hear,
Bells of glory and bells of cheer,
The sound of rushing shoppers,
Shopping for their dear -children,
I then' hear the songs of carolers,
Whose hearts are ringing out,
Without all of these,

A prseit for Santa
By Amberley Brunzk w
Grade 4, McCurdy -Huron Hope
One day Santa's elves were Work-
ing in the workshop. Santa had seven
elves. Their names were Ralph, Ran-
dy, Andy, Hobby, Tammy, Benito and
Christina. One day Ralph said, "Let's
make a very pretty present for San-
ta Claus."
"Hey that is a good idea," they all
said. "Hey, wait a minute". "What
will we get him?" said Randy. "1
know," said Benito. "We can get him
some new boots. I'II make them." So
off Benito went. "Andy, Tammy and
1 can make a sled".
So off went Randy, Andy and Tam-
my. "We can makehim a reOw coat,"
said Christina -to .Ralph and Ilobby.
"This will'be,the best Christmasfor..
Santa," and off they went!
That night Santa was looking for the
elves. Then he came into the
•workshop. Every elf hid what they
were making and ran to Santa. "Here
we are! Here we are!" "What were
you doing down here?," Oh nothing "
When they got upstairs Mrs. Claus
had made some hot chocolate and
cookies. Everyone dug in and ate and
drank until there was nothing for a
mouse.
After they were done the elves all
went downstairs. On Christmas day
they finished making their presents
for Santa. Then they wrapped their-.
presents for him except the sled
because it was too big.
Then when Santa was out deliver-
ing the presents the elves Ralph, Ran-
dy, Andy, Hobby, Tammy, Benito and
Christina put out the presents. Mrs.
Claus was impressed with the job!
When Santa Claus came home -he
opened the presents. It was the best
Christmas of all!
Waiting for Christmas
By Jacqueline Westetaken
• . Grade 7 - Precious Blood
As I sat waiting for everyone else
to wake dp on Christmas . day 1
remembered ...
We all sat around . the nicely
decorated and shining tree.'The wind
bowled and I couldn't see anything _
outside but white. Under the tree as
I examined earlier were >many
presents.
I found quite a few for myself.
Everyone was happy and warm. the
woodstove finished off the pictures-
que sight.
The weather was so bad out there,
cold and windy, you couldn't see. I
knew we wouldn't be able to go to
Church so we all gathered around the
tree, read from the Bible and sang
Christmas carols.
By this time you could smell the
turkey in the oven. I was happy that
we were all together, safe and warm.
1 looked up, the breakfast dishes
were done and put away and
everyone was around the/tree waiting
for me to come'so we could start open-
ing presents.

What would happen if Santa went
on vacation during the Christmas

We would- not get our toys for
Christmas and if Santa did go on
