May the miracle of
that first Christmas
be fresh and meaningful
as we share it
with those we love
ladies and guests. Roll call was
answered by 20 members and there
were eight guests.
The minutes were read and approv-
ed. The treasurer repotted a good
balance on hand. The card secretary
reported one birthday card and three
get -well cards sent. Donations and
cards of thanks were read. A letter
from our adopted Seminary student
was read thanking us for the generous
donation to him and his family. A col
lection for the Lutheran Hour was
taken.
Mary Rader read a Christmas story
"The Hunchback and the Babe" A
contest was held on Luke 2. A
Christmas pageant was held in the
church with Nancy Rader in charge
An exchange of gifts, followed by
lunch. took place. Pastor and _Mrs
Mellecke were presented gifts.
Names were drawn for gifts fit
candles and coat hangers. Everyone
had a good time.
The Altar Guild reported 13 visits.
The new . Guild is Mrs. Adelma
Mellecke and Mrs. Florence Marten.
Christmas treats for shut-ins will be
packed December 22.

Dashwood United -Church • Women
was held Tuesday evening. A
delicious turkey was serried to
m6mbers and guests. -Mrs. Eben
Weigand extended a warm welcome
to everyone. A sing -song of familiar
Christmas carols were sung accom-
panied by Mrs. Ken McCrae on the
piano The story of Christmas was
read Jry Mrs. Jim Weigand. The choir
sang a beautiful selection "Christ the
Lord is Born"
- Rev. Robert Sinasac spoke briefly.

calm even though the military were

The Christmas concert al Faith
Tabernacle was presented to a full
house Sunday evening when the
3 children presented a wonderful•pro-
gram. The audience was thrilled by
two solos sung by 10 year old Benji
Parker accompanied by his father on
3 - the guitar. All numbers were fully en
joyed. Rev. Degraw acted as M(' for
• I 'he evening and dosed with prayer.
In last week's issue I failed to men
'tibh 'the Santa -Clads parade- whiet
I formed up in town and 'Acceded to
Huron park. 1 had another commit-
ment so wasn't home but the -
neighbours report it to be better than
Iasi year. Congratulations to those

In closing Rev. Sinasac challenged
each one to a renewal of their faith
and to pray for continued peace in the
future.

Medical Association meeting
Dashwood & Area Medical Associa-
tion met at the Medical Centre Thurs-
day evening with all members pre-
sent. All reports showed a very suc-
cessful year. Mr. and Mrs. Eric
Frieter were present and presented a
picture of Friedberg, Germany. from
the Mayor of Friedberg and a plaque
with the Dashwood crest ( formerly
Friedsburg ) from the Frieter family
to be placed in the Medical Centre
Children's party
Saturday, December 14 was a busy
time for Dashwood and area children.
In the afternoon members Of the
Men's club and their wives conducted
games for the many children present.
Following this Steve Webb entertain-
ed the children with his magic. San-
ta arrived and the children received
chocolate rnilk and candy'.. Good us-
ed clothing. toys and food were
brought in for those in need.
White Gift Sunday
Calvary United Church Sunday
school White Gift program was
presented Sunday. December 15 at
the morning service. All the different
classes told the story —M the Stable".
At the evening service the primary
classes welcomed the congregation
with a display "Welcome" and song.
Paltor Sinasac introduced the
South Huron Community Singers who
sang two anthems, "Behold the
Saviour Cometh" and "Angels From
the Realm of Glory" and guest
organist Ross McDonald of London
who played professionally on the new
Baldwin organ which was dedicated
by Pastor Sinasac. Ross played
numerous selections and also played
a piano -organ duet with Miss Idella
Gabel who is the organist at the
church
Pastor Sinasac's mother Mrs. Jean
Sinasac. lAindon, his sister and hus-
band. Mr. and Mrs. David Ledgely of
-odor:. attended the service..
Personals

guests with Pastor and Mrs. M.
Mellecke,
