Story from the Bible and Readings
"It's Christmas" was read by Betty
Coughlin and "Santa's Disillusioned"
by Ruth Hill. A humorous skit "Going
Home for Christmas" presented by
Marion Hodgson and Hazel Cunn-
ingham had everyone laughing. The
door prize was won by Eleanor
Kestle.
During the business, generous
donations were made to "The
Children's Hospital of Western. On-

organization in Lucan and to "Com-
munity House", a home for battered
wives, in London.
A thank you note was read from the

Atlas sales
are booming
It is just a little more than a month
since the Huron County Historical
Atlas was released and already.more
than 2,300 of the 350 page books have
been delivered to purchasers in Huron
and across Canada. In addition
another 200 copies of the atlas have
been purchased and are awaiting
delivery instructions, according to
Goderich Township Reeve Grant
Stirling who headed the county coun-
cil committee responsible for the pro-
duction of the atlas.
While in the days following the in-
itial release there were some produc-
tion delays which resulted in disap-
pointment for a number of atlas pur-
chasers, this now has been resolved
and the stock on hand is sufficient to
meet day to day requirements. Of-
ficials at the Court House in Goderich
said the demand for the atlas was
steady. They said in many cases the
atlas was being purchased as a
Christmas gift.
The atlas, containing nearly one
million words and 1,000 pictures, in-
cludes 16 township maps showing pro-
perty owners, nearly 50 maps of
towns, villages and hamlets, lists of
small lot owners (under 40 acres). in
addition the stories of some GOO
families, organizations, churches and
businesses as well as of 26 Huron
municipalities are featured in the
atlas. Copies are available at $59.50
each at the Court House, Goderich
each week day Monday through Fri-
day. if delivery by mail is desired an
additional ' postage and handling
charge of $6.00 applies. Copies also
may be purchased at a number of
retail outlets in the county.
Patrons and others who have pur
chased an atlas are urged to pick it
up as soon as possit;la"as well as those
who loaned pictures are asked to con-
tact the atlas office regarding
delivery or pickup.
