All members received a gift from 2 Rose Cunningham in appreciation of 2 kindness shown during illness. Subscrip- tions were taken for the "Living Message". The hostess served refreshments and all enjoyed an hour of fellowship. Kim Van Allan, invited members for Busy time at Craig library By ALIKE DICKENS It has been busy as usual at the Ailsa Craig Library. The Junior Book Club preformed a puppet show for the pre-school storytime children, November 15. Karen McCallum, Linda Collins, Elissa Guy, Robin Smalley, Janine Curtis and Katrina Worgan made the puppets and the scenery for the play "The Brennen Town Musicians." Everyone enjoyed the story and it was fun for the girls who were the entertainers. The Book Club meets every two weeks and they have read many dif- ferent books. Anyone between grades 4-8 is welcome to join. Next meeting is December 19 at 4 p.m. With Christinas almost here, some of you may be interested to know Ailsa Craig Library has many books available with decorating and baking ideas for the Christmas season. Also they have the Consumer reports on many different items you may have on you Christmas list. Drop in anytime the staff will be happy to help you. United Church During the Ailsa Craig United Church service December 1 the Yeo family took part in the Advent Wreath and Candle lighting service. Edith read the scripture while her husband, Murray lit the first Advent candle. Everyone sang the Advent song "Light the AdVent Candle one". The sacrament of baptism for Bradley Ivap, infant son of Darlene and John Robinson, was performed by Rev. Beattie. Preparing for the Journey was the topic of the sermon taken by the minister. Sunday, (Mrs. Bruce) Janice Karr the January meeting, the date to be announced later. There were very few out to church Sunday morning at 8:45 a.m. due to storm and roads. Mr. and Mrs. Bob MacGillivray, Courtney and Katie Scarlett were Sunday guests with their grand- mother Mary Davis. A story presentation entitled "On- ly a stable" was presented by Mrs. Sutherland's Sunday School class followed by the scripture reading Luke 1:46-55 'The Magnificat of Mary' by the minister. Many White Gifts, large and small, already for the Salvation Army, were placed under the prettily decorated Christmas tree by the children. Congratulations are extended to Marshall Dearing a former Craig citizen, who was chosen Exeter's citizen of the year. Friends, neighbours and relatives were saddened to learn of the passing of Laurence Heaman. All express sympathy to Evelyn and families.
