A breathalizer test of Costain show- ed a reading of 120 mgs. He was charged on November 16 after his vehicle was observed proceeding slowly on concession 2 of Hay Township. Stewart was charged on June 29 at 2:40 a.m. after his vehicle was seen weaving along the Crediton Road. A breathalizerr test gave a reading of 140 mgs. All three were given 60 days in which to pay the fines. A $500 fine was imposed on Terry Nelson Phillips, 100 King St., Hensall, after he pleaded guilty to a break and. enter at Smith Peat Roofing in Exeter on October 25. He was alscr.placed on probation for 12 months and ordered to make restitution of $521, being half the damage caused to the building and. contents during the breakin. John David McNair, 37 Algonquin Drive, Huron Park, who pleaded guil- ty to the same offence, was remand- ed out of custody for sentencing on January 14. The court learned that when the en- try was noticed by a policeman mak- ing a routine check of the building. McNair escaped through a window. while Philips surrendered to police. . McNair's previous record was outlined to the court, showing six pre- vious convictions for a variety of of- fences, including break and enter. causing a disturbance and taking a motor vehicle without the owner's consent. He had been given jail terms on four occasions. A conditional discharge with a six- month probation was given to Ronald S. Gilliam, 413 Duke St., Cambridge, after he pleaded guilty to possession of a narcotic. He was charged on August 5 after his vehicle was stopped on Highway 21 and a search by. police turned up some liquor and a substance in a plastic bag. The accused admitted the substance was home-grown mari- juana and this was confirmed through analysis. Daniel Steeper, RR 1 Parkhill, ap- peared for sentencing on two charges of creatinganindecent act by expos- ing himself to young ladies in in- cidents in Exciter and Huron Park this past summer. He was given a suspended sentence and placed on probation for 12 months with the understanding he would con- 'inue to get medical treatment. The court was advised the accused was employed, received a positive report fron a doctor and there was no assault threatened in either incident for which he had been charged. 1 Proceedings commenced in the trial of Ronald A. June Littleton stopped behind her hu';band Harold's car, was tail-enaea by another vehicle, and her car was driven into her hubby's. Four thou- sand dollars in damages is certainly something to be considered But what a conversational piece the Lit- tletons have now. No one will be able to top their story when it comes to highway experiences.
