Two 5300 penalties handed out in court Two $500 fines were handed out by Justice of the Peace Douglas Westlake when he presided at Exeter court, Tuesday. Richard E. Bielawski, RR 2 Grand Bend, was given one of the $500 penalties after pleading guilty to a charge of driving a motor vehicle while his license was under suspension. He was charged after being stopped in Stephen Township on October 31. The court learned his license had been suspended twice in the past, once for unpaid fines and the other for driving while under suspension. He was given three months in which to pay the fine and a further six- month license suspension to run con- secutively to another suspension now in force. James W. Simpson, 112 William St., Ai, a Craig, was fined $500 after pleading guilty to -operating a motor vehicle on which there was no insurance. He was fined a further $53 for using plates on a vehicle which had not been authorized for it. Both charges were laid on November 15 and Simpson was given two months in ,which to pay. A fine of $250 was levied against Sandra Jo Pilot, 24 Shady Lane, Grand Bend, who pleaded guilty to driving while her license was under suspension on November 20 after be- ing stopped in a radar check. She too was given a further suspen- sion of six months to run consecutive- ly to any current suspension and two months in which to pay. Michael Venner, 62 King St., Hen- sall, who pleaded'guilty to driving at speed of 146 in an 80 km. zone on November 27 was fined 1200. In the final case on the docket, Reginald C. Brindley, RR 6 Goderich, was fined $53 after pleading guilty to altering a validation sticker on his license plate. A homemade validation sticker had been placed on the vehi- cle to make it appear that it expired in February, 1986,.when in fact it had already expired. Brindley claimed no knowledge of the sticker.
