Laurie Chalmers, Jeff Chipchase. Doug ('lark. Chris Eccles, Jim Dickens, Chris [laugh, Chad Miller. Brent MacDonald, Bruce Papple. Rick Price. Tom Ralph, Scot Russell. Darcy Vanneste, Steve Nilson and Mike 'Zimmer. Dalton Ford is the assistant coach while Mr. Ileeney is the head coach. The junior boys team. coached by Mr. O'Rourke consists of: Les Bolt. Dave ('deck. Trevor Cottrell, Fred Gregus. Scott Hern, Derek Martin, Mark Mathers. Curt Morris. Brent O'Brien. Jon O'Connor, Rob Pearen, Trevor"Katz. Scott Regier and Rick Voogel. Both the midgets -and juniors have promising players and are looking to good seasons. The senior team also coached' by O'Rourke has played several matches already, their lastest being at Regina Mundae this past weekend. The first match, against Valley Height, prov- ed victorious for South Huron. If a student sold five or more cases of oranges his or her name was valid for the draw. Sheri Cornish of grade 11 was the lucky winner. The ticket waft the equivalent of $400. Other prizes were given out as well. Tammy Belton of grade 11 sold the most oranges, a grand total of $431 worth. The Intramural homeroom sold the most oranges as a collective. They were rewarded with a pizza par- ty for their efforts. final score was 69-38. Rob Tait lead the scoring with 21 points. Scott Miller followed with 16 and Mike Clarke scored 13 points. The next match was also a victory for the Panthers. The score was Pan- thers 78. West Elgin 56. Rob Tait scored 24 points, Scott Miller 22 and Soctt Lorie also played well scoring 13 points. The team made it to the finals wherev.lhey were scheduled to play Arthur Vooden, however, due to technicalities ( a smashed back hoard) the game will be played at South . Brydges Bulldogs. Unlike a game two weeks earlier in which the Hawks held the Bulldogs to First defeat for Colonials The undefeated record of the. Cof- onial Hotel in the Exeter men's rec hockey league came to an end this week as the Outlaws scored a 6-5 victory. Randy Parker with three successful shots led the Outlaws to the victory. Scoring in single fashion were Terry Caldwell, Dave Kinstnan and Steve Baynham. Cam Haist was tops for the Col- onials with a two goal effort. Single scores were notched by Steve Jen- nisop, Ken Bergmann and Al Knight. Randy Kraut scored four times, Jeff Fuller and Bo Bilinsky notched two goals apiece and Mike Anstett and Andy Bierling shot singles as Pfaff Electric beat the Whalers 10-4. Jeff Rowe scored two for the losers and singles were added b;, Davell and Jeff Musser. Gary Sararas, Dave Prout and Mark Cronyn were double scorers and Barry Mills and Brian Taylor added single goals as the Young and Restless downed Algoma Tire 8-5. The Algoma marksmen were Gerry Kuntz, Gerald Weido, Bill Simmons, Dale Skinner and Jamie Gaul. Algoma Tire bounce(' r:acx with a 6-5 win over Exeter Inn. Gerald Weido led the tiremen with a two goal effort. Scoring insingle fashion w re Larry Skinner, Bill Simmons, Gdrry Kurtz and Ed Kerslake. Tom Ryan's hat trick was best for the Inn. Notching single goals were Dave Prance and Gary Lavier. Setting rosters for volleyball Currently the South Huron junior girls' volleyball team is undergoing trial practices and 'extensive cuts. Coach, Mrs. Jankowski, will have a hard time making the final cut as 44 girls initially tried out. Only a few are `veterans' from last year's team, the rest of the team will consist of rookies. " The senior gin's' team, cached by Mr. Halpenny, has been chosen and has been practising regularly for three weeks. The team consists of: Kendra Arthur, Irene Brand, Julia Brown, Margi Chaffe, Tanya Delbridge, Mary Fleming, Marilyn Hamilton, Mary Martens, Angelina Malik, Lee O'Rourke, Paulette Rothbauer, Karen Rowe, Leigh Soldan, Maureen Vanderboomen and Dianne Willis. GYMNASTICS Once more South Huron after much deliberation, will have a girls' gym- nastics team with Mrs. Eddy coaching. Team members will be chosen at the end of this week. This year, instead of Huron -Perth and WOSSA competitions, a pre-OFSAA tournament will be held. Hensall' tourney Teams from Exeter, Mitchell, Huron Park, Strathroy, Goderich, Dublin, St. Marys and Hensall played in a rec hockey tournament spon- sored by Hensall Minor Hockey on the weekend. In the B championship, `Mitchell Beaver Eaters beat Strathroy by a score of 4-2. Mitchell player Rod 1)avidson was named most valuable player, and Strathroy's Avery ('ol- ladge was runner-up The St. Marys Bulldogs carried off the A championship trophy, defeating Bank of Commerce in a closely fought game which ended with a 5-4 score. They travel to Lucan tonight (Wednesday I to battle the southern division leading Irish and then play Belmont in a home -and -home tussle this weekend.
