Church was. held Tuesday evening. The slateof officers for -1986 were
Mrs. Jim Weigand, chairlady of
('hurch in Society group, read the
poem "In Flanders Fields". Mrs.
Ilugh Boyle offered prayer.
Mrs. Robert Sinasac conducted the -
worship portion of the program. A
booklet "Coping with life and its pro-
blems" was introduced. Several
scripture passages were read helping
us to find answers to the many
pressures we experience -in our daily
lives. it is important to understand
the Lord's will. then organize our time
and establish our priorities accor-
dingly. Mrs. Sinasac closed with
prayer followed by singing "Blessed
Assurance". •

Zion Lutheran Ladies Aid held the
monthly meeting Tuesday. November
12 with group 1 and Mrs.'Dave Hader._
convener. in charge of devotions and
lunch. President Mrs. Florence
Martene opened the meeting with
hymn "Sweet and Anthem, Raise the
Song"followed by scripture reading
and prayer. Pastor Mellecke had for
the topic the history of the church.
The roll call was answered by 14
members. The Altar Guild reported
20 calls and flowers sent. The new
Guild is Mrs. Elda Koehler and Mrs.
Nancy Rader. Cards of thanks and
donations were received. A thank 'you
was received from the Seminary for
aur donation.
We now have an adopted student.
Les Rohner and his family, to whom
money will be sent. Donations were
made to Family and Children's Ser-
vices. Missions. Lutherwood. C.N.I.B.
and childrens Hospital Western
Ontario.
The ladies of the congregation are
invited to our Christmas meeting
December 10. There will be an ex-
change of gifts. Shut-in boxes will be
packed December 22. The new vice-
president is Mrs. Harry Ilayter. Clos-
ing devotions and lunch followed.

Bakers Dozen meet
for final 4-H time

The "Baker's Dozen", 4club,
Grand Bend nurnberH two, met for
their final meeting November 11 at
Ann Russell's home: They handed in
their record books and prepared for
their Achievement Day activities.
Ilugh and I visited, Sunday, with
cousins, Bev and Gail Coleman, in
Sea fort h.
Personals
A very successful harvest dance,
sponsored by Shipka Community and
held at Parkhill Community Centre,
was held Saturday night, with all
tickets being sold. Music for dancing
was provided by Maple Sugar
orchestra.
The 50/50 draw winners were: first,
Ralph Morley. Exeter, $225.00; se-
cond. Tont/ Michielsoen. $135.00: and
Jamie Baker. $90.00.
To top off the evening a bountiful
lunch of roast turkey, ham, baked
beans, cole slaw and other goodies
were served. .
Annie Zielman accompanied by her
daughters Debbie and Angie, visited
Sunday in Essex with Susie and
Wayne Robson, Colin and Sheina, and
also with Bill and Ellen Janzen at
Leamington.
Ferman and Leota Snyder and An-
nie Zielman and her friend Pearl
Gingerich, were on the McNaughton
bus tour trip Saturday, with Grand
Bend and area people to attend the
Royal Winter fair in Toronto.
Highlight'Qf the day was attending
the horse show where they saw
beautiful six horse hitch teams. of
Clydesdales. Percherons and
Belgians. judging of the small pony
class and a large number in the finals -
of the jumping hurdles class. .

On Sunday November 17, Rev.
Lorne Keays presided in the pulpit of
St. Andrew's. He preached a sermon
entitled "Philip -- what a man!"
4-11 News
The Kippen Kitchen Kuties will be
joining with other 4-11 clubs in the
area for their achievement night on
Tuesday, November 26 at 7 p.m. at
Central Huron Secondary School in
Clinton. The Kippen Kitchen Kuties,
consisting of 13 girls under the leader-
ship of Joyce Wilson and Eileen
Townsend, will be putting together an
exhibit on pie designs. Everyone -is
welcome to join the 441 members and
their leaders for this evening.
Season ends
for midgets
Midget girls' basketball at South
Huron came to a close Wednesday at
Stratford Central. The Panthers
played their first game against
Wingham Madill. It Was a close
match but South Huron defeated
Madill 46-42. Christina Wise was top
scorer with 14 points. Michelle Ellison
and Lori Harburn followed with eight
points each. -
The girls did not fare quite so well
with Stratford Central, losing 52-32.
This loss edged South Huron out of the
finals. Christine Rose led the scoring
'with 10 points. Lori Harburn and Kel-
ly Manders scored four each.
Throughout the entire season.
Christine Rose had the -highest
statistics total. This was made up
from the number of points scored.
various -basketball • maneuvers and
free throws. Spring Cushman had the
next- highest total.
Overall the midget girls basketball
team had a fantastic, season. Con-
gratulations girls!

Play will begin at 8 a.rn. with the
finals going at 6 p.m.
Stingers and Monday back at the
South Huron Rec Centre, the Hawks
were held to a 5-5 tie by the Goderich
Deckhands.
In the loss to Dorchester, Mike
Cushman, Ken Bergman and Scott
Burton led the Exeter scoring attack
with .two goals apiece. Scoring in
fashion were Ernie Ahrens, Walt
Tiedeman and Bob Jones.
Against Goderich Monday night,
the Molting Hawks scored four
straight goals late in the second
period and early in the third only to

The Ontario All Terrain Vehicle
Associates banquet and awards night
was held at the Park Lane Hotel on
Saturday. November 16h.
Local riders who won awards were

Parke Varna.
These local riders would like to

throughout the 1985 OATVA season.

The group committee tor Cromar-
ty Boy Scouts met Thursday evening
with Bill Mahon presiding. Betty
Stoneman read the minutes of the Oc-
tober meeting.
-Treasurer. Ruth Laing, reported
that $:334.35 was,rieceived on Scout Ap-
ple Day. realizing a net profit of
$277.40 after paying for the apples and.
advertising.
The Scouts. Cubs and Beavers ap-
preciate very much the support of
Hibbert township residents. and
would like to thank them for their
support.
This year 11 Beavers. 10 Cubs and
1.2 Scouts have been registered along
with their leaders, Margaret
Schroder, Twyla Waddell, Rhea
Cameron, ('arol Ann Scott, Bill
Cameron and Roger Rice.
The next meeting will be Thursday.
December 12, at 8 p.m.
