MR. AND MRS. ALLAN
Michelle Sandra Christine Vandergunst and Allan Charles Lovell were
united in marriage on October 5, 1985 at St. Paul's United Church
in Tillsonburg. The bride is the daughter of Richard and Agnes
Vandergunst, RR 1 Langton and the groom's parents are Alvie-and
Yvonne Lovell, RR 4 Wallaceburg. Shown above from left to right are
ushers Mark Vandergunst, Exeter; Dan Heywood, Exeter; Frank
Mousseau, Grand Bend. The best man was Sam (Davis) Regier,
Zurich. The, matron of honour was Helen Brand, London and
bridesmaids were Julie Regier, Zurich; Pam Bell, Kippen and Doreen
Melanson of Tillsonburg. The soloist was Susan Dunn of Dashwood.
Michelle and Allan are residing at RR.2 Grand Bend.

Pentecostal Church was held at the
home of Mrs. Jean Jolly. with 13
members present.
The meeting was opened by singing
the hymn. "Saved. Saved". 11r -s. Ella
Tinney offered prayer.
The roll call was answered with a
scripture verse cofitaining the word.
"Report". The minutes of the August
and September meetings were read
by Mrs. Ada Triebner. "i'he financial
report was read by N1ary Blanchard
A letter was read from the Blind
School in Taiwan. Mrs Shirley. Prou-
ty sang, "i1 will be worth it'all when
we serve Jesus'' as a special number
accompanied nn the piano by Mrs.
Idena Des ,Jardine.
' The missonary reading was given
by Idena on training ‘v-orkers in
Braid. ;Marion McLean gave the
message of the afternoon, a paper
written by John Wesley White entitl-
ed - Bible tack grounds to world
headlines. A time of prayer followed
in which every one participated.
A delicious luncheon was served by
Mrs. Jean Triebner and Mrs.
Margaret Small assisted by the
hostess.

Senior citizens will
plan parade float
Exeter Senior Citizens held their
meeting at the Legion Hall November
5 with a good attendance. The
meeting opened by singing 0
Canada and all repeating the Lord's
Prayer.
President Ruby Beaver was in
charge of the meeting and read an ar-
ticle from the U.S.C.O. magazine. A
discussion took place regarding the
club entering a float in the Santa
Claus parade. It was decided to par-
ticipate in this event.
Get well cards were sent to Eileen
Pullman, Gladys Anderson- A
moments of silence was observed in
memory of Margaret Mercer also the
deceased war veterans.
Mildred Thomson gave a very in-
teresting report on the zone fall rally
at the Stanley Complex in Varna.
Cook books are still available for
anyone to buy for gifts.
It was decided to have the same
committee groups continue for
another year.
The December ineeting will com-
mence with a Christmas dinner at the
Legion Hall on Monday, December 2
at 6 p.m. Deadline for tickets will be
November 25. Anyone not having
tickets contact a group convener.
Dorothy Bullock chaired the pro-
gram, which consisted of readings by
Dorothy Bullock, duet Marlene
Mathers, and Eric Kints, skit `Tales
of a School Mistress' by Audrey
McRoberts and Dorothy Bullock,
musical numbers by Ella Frayne on
the mouth organ accompanied by
Rebekahs
plan events
Pride of Huron Rebekah's visited
Seaforth Lodge Monday night to at-
tend a banquet honouring Assembly
Warden, Sister Sylvia Evans who is
visiting Huron District number 23.
Pride of Huron took part in the
meeting which followed the banquet
also activities - at the Exeter
Cenotaph, Sunday.
The Speak -off for the United Na-
tions Pilgrimage for Youth will be
March 7 in Clinton Public School.
Students from all the high schools in
the District will be competing. The
winner will receive a trip to New York
to see the United Nations at work,
next summer.
It was reported'that Sister Norma
Mickle and Verne Smith were both in
hospitals. We wish them a speedy
recovery.
The first 1.0.0.F card party of the
season will be November 13 in the
Lodge Hall. A donation was made to
the Huron Day Centre for the Home-
bound. The Odd Fellows and
Rebekahs insurance for members is
now due. An additional option is now
available for those wishing more
coverage.
A program of singing and contests
and lunch were enjoyed.
Bazaar success
for Mt. Carmel
The Mount Carmel C:W.L. ladies
held their bazaar on November 6 at
the school gym, with a large crowd in ,
attendance.
Included in the bazaar were a bake
table, craft table, books and plant
table, surprise package table, penny
sale table and raffle table.
The Crediton V 4-11 club held their
bake sale at the bazaar with proceeds
donated to the C.W.L.
The door prize donated by Diane
Andrews was won by Nola Faist. In
the raffle draws, a rocking horse
donated by Barney and Mary Rim-
mer was won by Jane McKeever and
a ham donated by Bill and Mary
McCann was won by Maddie Smith.
A baby quilt donated by Jean Flem-
ming was won by Lynn Ryan, a cone
wreath and cone candle holder
donated by Mary Hogan were won by
Jean Fleming and Gretta Vlemmix.
A special thanks to bazaar
chairperson Nancy Michielson for an
evening well organized and thanks to
everyone for their donations and help.
Town Topics
Mr. and Mrs. Peter Connon attend-
ed the Remembrance Day service at
Markham on Saturday where they
assisted Maude's mother, Mrs.
Maude Mingay, a Silver Cross
mother, in placing a wreath on the
cenotaph honouring the young men of
Markham killed in action during the
Second World War. During the same
ceremony Maude and her brother
Paul Mingay together placed a
wreath of red carnations An the
cenotaph in memory of their brother.
Corporal Donald James Mingay
K.C.A. who was killed in action in Ita-
ly ib 1944. Flying Officer Henry
George Mingay, who died in 1965, was
a veteran of the First World War and
the Second World War.

Thanks was extended to those tak-
ing part in the program and the
meeting closed by singing "God Save
the Queen". Lunch was served by the
committee in charge.

Brian Hern and Dianne Turner
were married October,25, at St.
James Anglican Church, Strat-
ford. Matron of honour was
Doreen Evans, sister of the bride
and best man was Greg Paul,
friend of the groom. After honey-
mooning in Northern Michigan,
the happy couple are residrng at
46 Patricia Rd., Stratford.

Catherine Marie Crabtree and
Gary Frederick Turnbull were
uhited in marriage April 12, 1985
at St. Louis King of France
Church, New Orleans, Louisian-
na. They are pictured here at
their reception at the Magnolita
Plantation. Following a wedding
trip to Hawaii, they returned to
East Jefferson Hospital where
they are both employed.
