After modelling their- costumes the children were served cup cakes with cat faces, and juice. Mr. Neil Regan handed out candy to the children for the Nursing Home and Mrs. Myrtle Rodd handed out the candy for the Rest Home. On Thursday afternoon our residents saw two films which were both quite humourous. They were the Three Stooges and Foreign Legion. On Friday, the Nursing Home residents enjoyed music with their lunch once again as Lorne Johnston, from the Rest Home played his violin in the dining room. On Friday afternoon Father Mooney came in and held Commu- nion for our Catholic residents. Times -Advocate, November 6, 1985 Page 9A Hymn sing at United Church Derick McGee was the Junior minister at the United Church on Sun- day morning and assisted Mr. McDonald with the service by reading the scripture. The Junior and Senior Choirs with Mrs. Fuss at the organ also assisted in the service in the Ministry of Music. The combined choir sang the anthem "Jesus was a Child Like Me" based on the scripture from Psalm 71:5 "Thou art my trust from my youth",by J. M. Bowdish. The Junior choir also sang the very beautiful "Children Love Each Other" by A.F. Myers based on the scripture "Be kindly affectionate one to another with brotherly love", from Romans 12:10. Dorothy Corbett greeted the con- gregation and the ushers were Donald Wareing, Murray McGregor, Mark McGregor and Gary Kyle. The flowers at the front of the church were placed in loving memory of Harvey Jacobi by Mrs. Jacobi and family. The service opened with a Gospel hymn Sing and Mr. McDonald spoke on the subject of "Where -is All This Love". He took his text from I Timothy. The congregation were reminded that next Sunday the Remembrance Day Service will be held in the church and that November 17 will be the An- niversary Service with Glen Wright, former minister of Exeter United Church, and now of London as the guest minister.. Mrs. Ruthig of St. Marys will be the guest soloist. A number of members of the Hen- sall United Church Women attended the Presbyterial Regional Meeting held in Egmondville United Church on Monday evening. Rev. On Tuesday, Shirley Luther con- ducted our church service for us. All who attended really enjoyed the ser- vice. Shirley also played the piano for the hymns. On Wednesday afternoon, 'nine of our residents went bowling at Town and Country Bowling Lanes in -Zurich. It was lots of fun and good exercise. Ladies_ high was bowled by a first "time bowler, Ethel Alexander, Mens high -was shared by Lloyd McDougall and Neil Regan with their scores tied. On Hallowe'en day the Hensall Nursery School children visited Queensway. Our residents got to visit with witches devils, cowboys and even a giant strawberry. The Nursery Kippen By MARGARET HOGGARTH 441 News Meeting seven of the Kippen Kit- chen Duties was held on October 29 at the-Vanastra Curling Club. After we repeated the pledge and heard the minutes from the last meeting, we learned about judging. We were given a chance to judge tea biscuits and each gave reasons for our choices. We then discussed our exhibit for the Achievement program which will be based on "Decorative Edges and Tops for Pies". The meeting was ad- journed, after refreshments, at 9:45. Press Reporter - Jane Papple. Paul Hoggarth participated in the 4-11 Provincial Reach for the Top Competition in Baden on October 18, 19, 20. His team from Huron County placed 2nd out of 26 teams from all over the province of Ontario. On Oc- tober 25, 26, 27 Paul also attended the 4-11 Future Talk, a workshop intened- ed to improve public speaking and communication skills. It was held at Scanlon Creek Conservation Area near Bradford, Ontario. Paul was Huron County's represen- tative and one of 20 4 -Hers chosen to attend from all of Ontario. Re-elect Charles D.
