Mohawks continue with win,. tie
The Exeter Mohawks continue to
turn in good performances in their
first year in the Ontario Hockey
Association Intermediate "C" league.
The Mohawks downed the Arthur
Tigers 4-2 in Arthur Friday night and
Sunday night on home ice held the
New Hamburg Towers to a 4-4 tie.

Harriston to meet the Blues Friday
night and will face -the Arthur Tigers
in a return game at the South Huron
Rec Centre Sunday night at 7:30 p.m.
In Arthur Friday night coach Jack
Chipchase found a shortage of for-
wards among only 12 skaters in his
lineup. With half of his crew usually

swing Barry Baynham and Randy
Kraul up to wing positions and they
responded with good efforts.

scored by Barry Baynham of the
Mohawks on a three-way passing
combination with Steve Prout and
Pete Tuckey on a power play.
With only four seconds remaining
in the opening period, Brian Mercer
made it 2-0 for the Mohawks as he hit
the Arthur net on an unassisted effort.
In the second period Dennis Alder-
man scored the first Arthur goal a(
12.03 on a power play, but only five
minutes later in a similar situation
Brian Mercer notched his second for
the night on , passes from Barry
Baynham and Randy Kraut.
Each team scored a goal in the final
20 minutes of play. Dan Drayerwas
the marksman for Arthur while his
team was playing shorthanded and
Mike Clark converted a pass from
Brian Mercer for the Mohawks.
Pete Parsons in the Exeter nets
was sharp throughout the game and
came up with good stops on three
