Precious Blood
The month of October was filled
with events at Precious Blood School.
Mr. Rideout came October 4 when we
learned soccer and cross country
skills. It would have been a perfect
day except one of the girls from grade
seven and eight broke her arm.
A week later students and parents
gathered together for a Thanksgiving
Mass. Due to Father Nelligan's
ailments he was not available so
Father Fleming filled in for him.
The next week Mrs. McCarroll,
Separate School Board librarian
came to visit and inform us of the im-
portance of Canadian illustrators.
October 23, Kindergarten, Grades
one and two went to Mt. Carmel
School to be entertained by Petal the
Clown who amazed everyou_' with her
juggling and tightrope walk. They en-
joyed the performance very much.
The next day 17 pupils went to a
cross country meet in Benmiller. The
weather was not pleasing but they ran
in the rain only to have mud up to
their knees.
The juniors ran first, then in-
termediate followed, and last but not
least the seniors. Kevin Coolman
placed 15th and Darryl Hartman plac-
ed 28th out of 63 runners in the juniors.
Boyden Gryseels was in second
place through the entire race but un-
fortunately coming into home stretch
slipped and placed 15th. Giselle Char-
rette followed closely and placed 16th
out of 90 runners in the seniors.
The classes are now preparing for
Hallowe'en when they will judge
costumes and perform skits or plays.

Kinettes selling poinsettias
Over 80 Kinettes across Huron and
Perth Counties will be catching the
Christmas spirit early as they sell
poinsettias to raise money for Cystic
Fibrosis.
Adele Drennan of Goderich, co-
ordinator of the sale, said the eight
Kinette clubs in Zone K will be par-
ticipating in the Poinsettia flower of
hope sale.
The profit realized by the sale of
these flowers will go to the Canadian
Cystic Fibrosis Foundation for
research and assistance. CF, with its
slogan, Give a Chid the Breath of Life,
is the national cause for Kinsmen and
Kinette clubs.
Zone K has Kinette clubs in
Dungannon, Goderich, Clinton, Ex-
eter, Hensall, Mitchell, St. Marys and
Stratford.
Mrs. Drennan says that from Nov.
1 to 15, the Kinettes will be out collec-
ting orders for the flowers in their
respective communities. Although
ELECT

DEPUTY REEVE

size of the flowers may vary, the most
common size available will be six-
inch pots at $5 a piece or an eight -inch
pot with a triple poinsettia at $15.
The Zone co-ordinator says each
club or town could have a different
delivery date, but the flowers will ar-
rive before Christmas.
The Exeter Precision Skating Club wishes to extend our sincere
appreciation to the many local ladies who showed great pa-
tience and understanding in the face of adversity and helped
make our Ladies Night a financial success.
Many thanks to owners and staff of Brigitte's, Sweat Chic, Jac-
gvelines, Rumors ll, Perry Originals, Fashion Party, Little Peo-
ple, Gentlemen's Choice, Gerrards, Looking Good, Smyth's
Shoes, Wuerths Shoes for contributing so much time and ef-
fort to make our fashion show extra special. A special thank
you to Karen Pfaff and her girls for the countless hours spent
putting the show together. It is the talent of these people and
those such os Gary, Doug and Mike on lighting and music who
make a good show great.
Donations by Flower Pedlar, Image Cleaners, Sweater Shop,
Big V, Rumors, Country Flowers and Feather Tick were most
appreciated additions to our evening.
Overall, we hope you enjoyed your evening and will not
hesitate to join us again.
