SN field hockey team wins WOSSA
One of the most exciting games
ever played by a South Huron field
hockey team Saturday resulted in the
fifth straight WOSSA championship
for the local high school's girls team.
Dedicated coach Jim Workman will
be taking his team to Scarborough
Wedneday night to compete in the
OFSSA tournament for the sixth
straight year.
Host New Hamburg, Sunday
The South Huron girls won the title
with a nerve wracking 1-0 win over a
very strung St. Marys Sulakis team.
In earlier play Friday, the Panthers
blanked Dorchester 5-0 and downed
West Elgin by a score of 5-2.
Ronalynn Bell scored three times
and Kim Crawford added two suc-
cessful shots in Friday's easier vic-

honours with two goals apiece. Ad-
ding the fifth score was co -captain
Kendra Arthur.
In the championship contest
against St. Marys, Kendra Arthur
notched the lone goal to give the title
to the Panthers.
Coach Workman said he felt ex-
perience of his team was an impor-
tant factor in gaining the fifth straight
WOSSA title. He added, "When we got
in our own end of the field, we didn't
get rattled, remembered the basics
and got the job done".
Workman called this year's team
the strongest he has ever coached. He
continued, "I likely said the same
about last year's club, but, this is a
very strong team."
