Mr. Tony Laughrene taught a new.
chorus, I Will Arise and go Forth.
Rev. Mason spoke from Ephesians
6:10-12 concerning spiritual conflict
against the church. According to
verse 12 Christians are engaged in a
very real supernatural conflict. The
devil will take any incident to agitate
it to make the church go off course.
Standing in Christ, Christians have to
drive back these evil spiritual forces
by prayer. Verse 11 stresses putting
on the armor of God to stand against
the schemes of the devil, resisting
him in Jesus' name.

Christ. Genesis 3:15 says Jesus crush-
ed the devil's head, defeating the
devil. Ephesians 1:22 says Jesus has
all things put under His feet, and is
head over all things to the church.
Sunday evening Rev. Roger Mason
spoke from 11 Corinthians 10:3-5,
about breaking down strongholds. As
Christians are in a spiritual warfare,
they need to use their weapons of
defence, the truth of God's word.
Jesus used the Word against the
enemy. Spiritual warfare is not won
by carnal methods of education, elo-
t4uent speaking, or strong personali-
ty. The word of God preached in truth,
and read by Christians become
powerful spiritual weapons.
Stronghold in people's minds that
need to be broken down can be opposi-
tion to God's word, unbelief, and
wrong teaching. When God's word is
planted in people's minds, it can
break down these strongholds.
Everything opposed to God can
become a stronghold that needs to be
broken down by God's word, which is
very powerful. God will deal ,with
each wrong idea through His word.
Even Christians can have strongholds
of wrong ideas that God is dealing
with to clear up.

the fourth meeting of the Granton
`Honeybun' 4-H Club on October 3.
We began with the 4-H pledge follow-

egg whites which would be in the
cakes, soon to be made. The ingre-

chiffon cake were each added by the
members. After the cakes had been
put in the oven, we decided on a date
for the next meeting.
Roll call was "Comment on the pie
you made at home. Are there any ad-
justments you would make if you did
it again. Then we discussed where the
work would be held. We read tt)rough
the information of the meeting and
soon the cakes were finished. They
tasted great and we all looked for-
ward to making our own.
Church News
At the Granton United Church the
Rev. Bruce Pierce was in charge of
the service and officiated at the
sacrament of holy communion. In
place of a sermon, the minister gave
a Meditation on the communion ser-
vice. "There are three reasons why
we should take Communion, (1)
Because it is an invitation to God's
Table, (2) because it is a sacrament,
which means mystery, and (3) Jesus
Christ is in the midst, and it is a
meeting with the Master.
