ROBERT LAING The Sunday School pupils joined in the worship service of Cromarty Kippen 4-H choose name By MARGARET HOGGARTH The third meeting of Kippen 3 4-H Club was held on Tuesday September 24 at Brucefield church. The 4-H pledge was repeated and minutes of the last meeting were read by Theresa Van Dorp. The roll call was completed and our books passed around to other members to be checked. The name of the club was decided upon and we will be known as "Kip - pen Kitchen Kuties". We worked on making Cornish pastry, and a coconut banana cream pie, which both turn- ed out to be very tasty, then discuss- ed our book work and home activities for that meeting, after which we ad- journed. Press -reporter Paulette Predhomme. Kippen United Church Pastor Lorne Keays presided in the pulpit of St. Andrews on Sunday September 29. The ministry of music was presented by the choir singing "It's a Miracle" accompanied by Mrs. Barbara Cooper at the organ. For the children's story time, Rev. Lorne Keays used a map to illustrate to the boys and girls that the Holy Bi- ble is their map to help them find their way in life. The sermon entitled "Are the 10 Commandments worth bother- ing about today?" was expounded upon by Rev. Lorne Keays telling us, --as games need rules, societies need laws. The 10 commandments are the laws God gave to the nation of Israel and on which Judaic -Christian na- tions are built and are the means to live together in a meaningful and con- structive way. Christians seek to obey the commandments in the spirit and light of Jesus. Bulletin reminders: Sunday Oc- tober 6 is World -Wide Communion Sunday, and Kippen will therefore be celebrating the Sacrament of Holy Communion. Kippen's Anniversary Service is Sunday October 20 at 11 am. Kippen Church's annual fall supper will be Wednesday November 13, in the Brucefield church as usual.
