The final award presented was the
Scott Hasselback award Presented
annually by the club to the person best
exemplifying sportsmanship and
dedication to the game of soccer in the
'Exeter area. This years recipient of
the award was Mike Cregan.
Mike has been involved with soccer
in this area for many years. As a
member of the executive, player,
coach and referee Mike has given a
lot to Exeter and area kids over those
years and the award was in recogni-
tion of all his efforts. '
In his closing remarks Martin
DeBruyn made a special mention of
all the sponsors that have been so
good again this year as supporters.
He also made mention of the annual
meeting this Tuesday and called on
everyone to support the soccer club.
After the final words the people pre-
sent enjoyed a delicious pot luck
meal. With lots of food and good
cheer, fun was had by everyone and
nobody went home hungry.
This concludes this years soccer
report. Thanks to everyone for a good
season, have a nice winter and see

Mustangs, Dale Gibson of the London Diamonds and Mitchell's Ron
Elliott who played last year with the Milverton intermediates.
Add to this about a dozen holdovers from last.year's team and
a bunch of graduates from the junior Hawks and you have a poten-
tially strong club.
In addition to the Hawks and the Mohawks, there is plenty of
other hockey at the local ice palace. A number of teams from the
Exeter Minor Hockey Association play each Wednesday night and
each Tuesday and Thursday nights it's Exeter men's rec hockey.
We should not forget the Molting Hawks who take to the ice most
Monday nights at 9:30 in oldtimers hockey league play.
This along with the many activities of the Exeter figure skating
club makes for a busy schedule for the winter months and lots of
exciting entertainment of spectators.
Would be fitting
Most ardent Toronto Blue Jays fans may not appreciate this
suggestion of ours.
How about the Jays waiting until Friday night to clinch the
American league eastern pennant.
That would make it rather dicy, but, appropriate to win the
title at home and against the major contender.
