Our first need was a hotel, and our son-in-law hunted up one that was small, but immaculately clean. Because our rooms had no T.V. or minibar, the price was more than right... about $80.00 Canadian. There was one drawback, a large casement window that faced out on a narrow lane, not more than 15 or 20 feet wide. The problem was another window on the other side/of the lane directly across from us belonging to people who partied long into the night, and had it not been for our trusty sleep- ing pills we would have not got much rest. Again, we ex- perienced a change of landscape, some of it reminding us of our own s Switzerland, the bustle and noise of the carnival -like atmosphere almost caused culture shock. : It Seems to me... Ontario. We moved smoothly into Geneva's railway station, an ex- tremely busy terminal on several levels, and then, after walking through a short tunnel, we found ourselves up on Mont Blanc Rue. After the peaceful week in rural by Gwyn Whilsmith There were street musicians, organ grinders, a merry-go-round, dozens of daring kids _darting in and out on soundless roller skates, and blocks of small tables under bright umbrellas. Crowds of people, from elderly men with canes, and grey haired matrons, since sleep is absolutely essential if I'm going to get the most out of any trip. In any event, long before we went to bed, we were out prowling around, trying to get the feel of this most famous of cities which is about the size of Ottawa and not difficult f,o ex - Please turn to page 7 1 G1.()1: I I 1.1.1:"s ol 01 Nit A STORE FULL .OF BEAUTIFUL FURNITURE On the Main Street of Dublin 345-2250 Free Delivery SEPTEMBER FOOD SPECIALS • $ more in-store s • ecials We Deliver!
