Cowgirls are
facing elimination
The Crediton Cowgirls ladies
fastball team dropped down into the
B finals after losing their final game
5-1 to Parkhill. The ladies went on to
meet Strathroy and lost the first two
games 6-5 and 22-8 but came back
Monday night to stay in the running
with a 16-7 win.

game of the best of five series at home
Wednesday night at 7:30 p.m. and if
they win travel to Strathroy for the
championship game either Friday or
Sunday night.
In their final game against
Parkhill, the Cowgirls started off
allowing three runs in the first inning
on their own errors. After settling

wrong. Errors which were never seen
before were accomplished by the
Crediton team.

Lori Devlaeminck and Brenda
Iredale with two hits apiece. Single
hits were added by Karen Williams.
Tammy Regier, Marilyn Smithers,
Fay Schenk, Kate Steeper and Kathy
Gielen.
The third game of the series saw
('rediton bat in two runs in the third
inning to take the lead and in the
fourth inning left a wide margin bet-
ween them and their opponents by
pounding in seven more runs. In the
next three frames, the Cowgirls kept
adding to their score to achieve their
first and decisive win of the series.

ball allowing only three errors and us-
ing their bats when needed.

Allow hunting
at Point Farms
The Wingham District office of the
Ministry of Natural Resources
(M.N.R.) has announced that hunting
will again be permitted at Point
Farms Provincial Park this year.
Located 5 km north of Goderich on
Highway 21., Point Farms supports a
variety of waterfowl and small game.
Hunting was first allowed during the
autumn of 1984.
The holder of a licence may hunt
any animal or bird that he is authoriz-
ed to, from October 15, 1985 until the
last day for which that particular
licence is valid. Two permits may be
applied for: the Resident Small Game
Licence and the Migratory Game
Bird Hunting Permit.
Wingham Conservation Officer
Glen Sturgeon cited the opening of the
park to hunting as "another example
of integrated resource management
in the Wingham District".

of 24 as the top competitor in Sunday's
