If you have taken them by mistake phone Marie Gelinas Sr. at their cottage 236-4506. Blue Water Auxiliary The ladies Auxiliary held their monthly meeting at the Rest Home on September 3. Both the members and residents were treated to a lovely musical program. A lunch of cheese and cake followed. Twenty-eight ladies answered the roll call. It was reported that 11 bir- thday cards and one sympathy card were sent out last month to the residents. Some frozen, left -over hot dogs and buns and pop from the Bean Festival were sold to the members. It was decided to cash in the rest of the Zehr's tapes and not save anymore. If you have some tapes, please turn them into the Home soon. The date set for the annual Fall Bazaar will be on Saturday, November 9. So everyone has lots of time to do some knitting. Bowling • Monday night was the beginning of the ladies bowling league at the local alleys, and a chance for everyone to get together again for the winter months with their friends and have a little fun! Newlyweds Congratulations to bride and groom Theresa Regier and Dwayne LaPorte who were marrid on Saturday at St. Boniface Church by Fr. Mooney with dinner and reception in Hensall. They are the children of Butch and Helen. Regier and Isidore and Mary LaPorte, all of Zurich. The happy couple spent the first night at the honeymoon tower suite, Hessenland and on return home from Niagara Falls will be living in Hensall. Congratulations to Dorothy Steckle and Bob Dietrich who were married on Saturday, September 7 at the Zurich Mennonite Church by Pastor Clayton Keupfer with dinner held in Dashwood at the Community Centre. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Steckle, RR 3 Bayfield and the groom is the son of Mrs. Dorothy Dietrich, RR 3 Dashwood. Following a month's honeymoon trip west the couple will reside in Zurich. Newcomers Welcome to town to Mr. and Mrs. Gushie and three children, formerly of RR 3 Bayfield, who recently mov- ed into the former home of Marjorie and Magnus Thalheimer on Victoria St. The Thalheimers have moved to Mitchell. 45th anniversary Congratulations to Patty and Dorothy Bedard who celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary on September 2. They were treated to a family dinner Sunday by their three children and spouses at the Oakwood Inn, Grand Bend. Congratulations also to Clarence and Beattie Geoffrey on the occasion of their 45th anniversary on Monday, September 9. They are planning to go on a trip to Germany to visit with their daughter, Mary -Ann and son-in- law Jim Vanos and children. Zurich WI An enjoyable day was had In, ;t3 Women's Institute members' atircl friends on Thursday.We mototo Clinton and visited Sloman's 1 on Wheels. We were shown slides of their work in Northern Ontario and served coffee and cookies by Mrs. Sloman and daughter Margaret. We had a short business meeting and lunch and continued on to Blyth were we all enjoyed the show Gar- rison's Garage at the festival. The day concluded with dinner at the Blyth Hotel. Personals Gertie Fleischauer spent the weekend in London with her daughter Larry and Marion Rogers and family. Dan and Carrie Eybergen and daughter of Waterloo spent from Fri- day to Sunday at his parent's cottage in Grand Bend, and celebrated Tif- fany's first birthday on Saturday, September 7 with supper and birth- day cake at her grandparent's, Carmel and Jerome Sweeney and family, Zurich along with Aunt Heather and Uncle Paul Klopp. A very nice bridal shower was held on Sunday at St. Boniface School for need Brownie leaders 60 friends and relatives for Karen Bigelow, the fiance of Barry Overholt, son of Phil and Yvonne, who plan to be married on October 12 in London. Mrs. Juliette Denomme returned home on Sunday after spending the past week in London with her daughter, Luciene and Eldon Denomme. Little Stephanie Gelinas, daughter of Martin and Cheryl Gelinas is a pa- tient in Sick Children's Hospital, London. Inspite of a very hot and humid weekend, a good turnout was had for the South Huron slo-pitch tournament on Saturday and Sunday. Labor Day weekend was the annual family reunion and get-together at the home of John and Bernadette Denomme, RR 2 Zurich with all their children and grandchildren (35 in all) coming from Windsor, Toronto, Oakville, Kitchener. Dad's birthday on September 2 was celebrated and all enjoyed using the newly built cabin at the lake, which the boys had all worked on this past summer. Mrs. Eileen Consitt of Spruce Villa Apts. was busy last week ding the enumerating for Zurich, which is done every three years. Thelma Thiel, accompanied by her brother, Truman Fischer of Saskat- chewan returned home last Thursday after a five week holiday there. Truman is planning to spend a month visiting with friends and relatives in the Zurich area. Miss Darla Gingerich, 22 -yr -old daughter of Melvin and Mary Ellen Gingerich, RR 2 Zurich is living in Richmond, Virginia for the next year. and working at a Day Care Center, under the direction of the Board of Mennonite Missions. Darla had left home on August 29 for Eliart, Ind. to attend a 10 -day orientation program. Special get -well wishes for those still in the Exeter hospital go to Lenore Turkheim, Ward Neeb and Mary Gerber. Mystery prize winners at the bingo last Thursday were split two ways with Beattie Geoffrey, Zurich receiv- ing $88.00. The other lady was from Clinton. Miss Diane Klopp, daughter of NEW IfEACHER --- Linda Kistner, the new kindergarten teacher at St. Boniface, hands out drawing paper to her students. Herb and Donna Klopp, left by plane on Sunday for an extended three- month trip to Scotland, Germany, Sweden, Ireland and other places in Europe. A little farewell luncheon was held in her honor on Friday after- noon, given by her mother, with 18 friends attending. Weekend visitors with Gerald and Ursula Regier were Buster and Ber- nie Regier and Bob and Pat Regier of Windsor.
