Campbell are at the Mensal! arena.

Pennant battles continue
While area baseball fans are showing plenty of interest in the
American league east battle between the Blue Jays and Yankees,
two other finishes promise to be close.
Kansas City and California are neck and neck in the American
west as are the Mets and Cards in the National league east.
Getting back to Toronto and New York, the upcoming four
game series at Yankee Stadium this weekend could be the most
crucial of the season.
Starting with Thursday's games the Yankees have a slight
edege in scheduling with 15 of 25 games at home while the Jays
are hosts for 11 of their final 23 contests.
It could boil down to October 4, 5 and 6 when the Yankees will
be at CNE Stadium for the final three games.
We will pick Toronto, Kansas City, the New York Mets and
Los Angeles Dodgers as the four pennant winners.

IT REALLY WORKS
The Express edged the London Ser-
vicmaster juniors 7-6 in 12 innings,
Wednesday to sweep the best -of -three
final series in two straight games.
The Exeter club won the first game
by a 4-3 score a week earlier. These
losses were the only two the London
club suffered in the entire 1985 season
after 20 straight wins. In the first
game of the year, Servicemaster
swamped the Express 20-0.
Paul Gilmour's second home run of
the game in the top of the 12th inning
Wednesday was the deciding factor in
the Exeter win along with excellent
pitching.
After Servicemaster had scored
two runs in the bottom of the first in-
ning, the Express roared back with a
five run rally in the top of the second
frame and were on top until the ninth.
The uprising started with one out
when Kevin Hern was safe on an er-
ror. Brian Horner, Dave Bogart and
Dave Atthill followed with singles to
set up Paul Gilmour's home run
drive.
The sixth Exeterrun came in the
fourth when with two out, Steve
Pearce reached the bases on an error
and crossed the plate on Dave
Bogart's second single of the game.
