When football camp opened for the
SHDHS senior Panthers this past
week. several familiar faces were
back in the line-up. Veteran quarter-
back Scott Miller and former junior
quarterback Jerry- Lamport_ will be
sharing the offensive head job this
year for the senior Panthers.
Other offensive backs returning for
another year include such players as
Sean Whiteford, Bill Fisher. and Sean
O'Rourke. Many of last year's large
linemen have gone on to bigger and
better things, leaving holes in the of -
fensive and defensive lines. Players
such as Steve Gould; Mark I'enhale
and Trevor Johnston have returned
however so there will be some ex-
perience on the lines. •
Overall. there has been an excellent
turn -out at both the senior and junior
football camps with many promising
rookies in attendance. Both teams
have their first exhibition games o►,
Friday. September 13 when they are
scheduled to play Lucas Secondary
School in London. Their regular
season opener is on September 19
against long -lime rivals. theGoderich
Vikings. Things are looking pronlis-
ing for both teams.
This year's senior team is being
coached by veteran Ron Bogart and
the junior Panthers are being coach-
ed by Dave ('ox, Bruce Eccles. and
Keith Wonnacott.
