Visitors from Holland
By MRS. HUGH MORENZ
Recent visitors with Hugh and An-
nie Morenz. were Fay and Arie Artz.
of Nijmegen. Holland. Fay and Annie
have been pen pals for 25 years and
this was our first personal meeting.
Over the years she has sent many of
the dolls in my collection.
1 first met Fay, anonymously,
through the Mary Hastings column
that used to be in the London Free
Press. We had a fine day of picture

and supper together.
The Artz's are on a three month
holiday in Canada. They feel deep ap-
preciation of Canadian people, whose
soldiers liberated Holland in World
War 11. Fay tends the graves of many
Canadian soldiers and throughout
their trip will be visiting mothers and
relatives of soldiers.

Plan car rally
at Blyth festival
The Blyth Festival will be holding
its first Car Rally on Saturday.
September 14, 1985 - a "fun run"
through the beautiful Huron County
countryside. Cars will depart from
the Blyth Memorial Hall between 9:00
a.m. and 12 noon. .
It is expected the rally will take
about three hours - unless you get
hopelessly lost, in which case you will
have to open your "emergency kit"
(provided to all registrants at the
outset). There is a lunch spot with
washrooms en route - but we can't say
exactly where or it will give the game
away!
Members, of the public are invited
to join in the fun. Get into the spirit
by inventing a humoUrous name for
your team or come in costume ;so
long as it doesn't hamper your driv-
ing ability). it is recommended that
each team consist of at least two peo-
ple: one to drive, the other to navigate
and read the instructions. This is an
ideal event for the whole fmaily -
children can get in on the act by wat-
ching out for clues and landmarks.
Please note, this is NOT a race. The
object of the rally is to correctly
answer questions and identify check-
points along the route, while enjoying
the challenge and taking in the
scenery.
The car rally is a fund-raising event
with all monies going towards the
capital projects fund of the Blyth
Festival. Teams may pre -register by
calling the Blyth Festival Box Office
at 523-9300/9225, or may register on
the morning of September 14 itself.
Registration costs $3.00 per car.
regardless of the number of people in
the vehicle.
First prize is one night's accom-
modation for two at the 4 star Ranton
Place Motor Hotel in Palmerston:
their fitness centre includes an indoor
pool, sauna, whirlpool, squash courts.
etc. Further prizes will be awarded in
.various other categories.
