In Crediton

By MRS. STAN PRESZCATOR
Bible School started Monday mor-
ning with 78 children and 18 teachers
registering.
It started off with a skit with Peter
Parrot, Sally Seagull and Theopilus
Turtle to try and find the treasure on
•
Sonrise Island.
Tuesday the treasure was found, it
was "God's Love" 1st Corinthians
13:4. Parents and friends are invited
Friday at 11 a.m. to attend.
Sunday services for Zion United
Church were held at the Community
ball park pavilion with a large atten-
dance. Special muic was provided by
Clandeboye
Clarence and Barbara Carter and
Tom and Phyllis Tomes, participated
in the Crediton Summerfest Parade,
Saturday riding in Clarence's model
T Ford, portraying the "Clandeboye
Hillbillies".
Jean Hodgins attended the London
area Women's Institute Tweedsmuir
History Curator's workshop, Tues-
day, held in the new Goderich
township hall at Holmesville.
Seventy-five curators attended
from Middlesex, Elgin, Oxford, Perth
and Huron counties. Allison Lobb,
was the speaker for the morning ses-
sion, her subject "Photography for
Posterity". She was very interesting
and informative.
In the afternoon James Anderson.
Archivist -Administrator at the
Stratford -Perth Archives spoke on the
care of old pictures, stressing only
acid -free paper and glue, for use in
storing our pictures to preserve them
for posterity.
He was a bit discouraging as he
faulted most of the Curator's books on
display, for the type of paper and glue
they were using.
His assistants, Lutzen Riedstra,
Archivist -Researcher, answered a lot
of questions on tracing farm and
family histories also House Logs, and
Susan Luckhardt, clerk -secretary,
demonstrated paper making, using
flower petals and tissue paper, put
through a blender, and mixed with
water and screened out on cloths to
dry, the result, an acid free paper. In-
teresting, but a lot of work.
