Ile read Matthew 21:12-16, whey( Jesus quoted from Psalm 8:1-2 -and stated when Christians search God's Word, it shows that God today wants His people to worship Him in praise and worship. As we seek God diligently. He will show His marvelous works. ano power. Demons are so uncomfortable when Christians seek the Lord, they have to fell. Psalm 149 exhorts people to praise the Lord. When Christians praise the Lord they will see changes in their lives. It is an honor to he able to praise the Lord. Christians need to know who they are in Christ. and use the - spiritual gifts God has given then. Because God loves a cheerful giver;. people should give their offerings with joy. As a ('hristian prays. giving God praise and thanksgiving. and with an expectant heart. he will see results. Faith is the ingredient that binds prayer and, praise together. Where there is grumbling. criticism. and strife,.satan is active. and Christians are not praisingGod. Praising God. thinking of true. honest, pure. and just things will bring joy and victory. The gift of service is the supernatural ability to serve as a sup- port to others as they work for the Lord. A deacon of a church should have the gift of service as he takes on the responsibility of helping in the church. The gift of service is task oriented to get a job .dune. One of the clearest examples of ser- vice is found in Acts 6:1-4. The early church was engaged in helping widows. but the apostles had the im- portant task of {preaching the Word. Then seven ,Men were chosen to distribute the food 10 the widows. They were men of good (qualifications. Luke 10:40 mentioned Martha who tried hard to serve Jesus while her sister Mary listened to Him teaching. Sometimes it is hard for those with the gift of helps to understand that others do not the same things. Each has his own gift of service. Ephesians 0:5-7 gives advice that whatever one does in service. one does it as unto the Lord. Village buys former turnip plant Luca', council completed an ac- quisition bylaw Tuesday night to of- ficially purchase the former turnip plant on Market street. The property was purchased at a public auction for $60,000. Reeve Norm Steeper said this amount was available in a reserve fund. The village planning committee has been directed to study possible uses of the new property. Steeper said there was a possibili- ty of rental housing accommodation, probably for seniors. He added, "The committee will study all areas and make suggestions to council. There is a community expectation of what we are going to do with it." Deputy -reeve Harry Wraith will represent the village on a committee to study the problem of waste disposal in Middlesex county. An earlier meeting outlined the method of recycling as an alternative to waste diposal. A recent letter asked for village representation on the committee to continue discussions and possibly assist joint councils to establish some form of agreement on cost sharing of either a master plan study or recycl- ing study. Steeper said, he had no problems with further discussions and Wraith added, "It won't hurt to keep on listening." The Middlesex library board has proposed increases in rent by 75 cents per square foot. The Lucan library figure would rise to $2,665 per annum. Final reading was given to the Benn municipal drain. Clerk Ed Melanson said he had received verbal OMB ap- proval for expenditures to be paid next year. CNR officials have agreed to do their own work on culverts. Deputy -reeve Wraith and councillor Larry Hotson will meet in the near future with reps from Biddulph township to discuss the possibility of calling bids for joint insurance coverage for the two municipalities.
