Christmas meeting, Tuesday.
Members and guests sat down
to a turkey supper served by
the catering group.
Following this, Helen
Nadiger read a Christmas
poem. The conveners
presented prizes to 28 ladies
in name draws.

busy and profitable year.

Alter Guild reported 28 visits,
five treats and the distribu-
tion of tapes. The new Guild
is Mrs. Diane Leibold and
Mrs. Florence Keller. Three
wicker baskets made by Mrs.
Sheila Miller were purchased
to hold altar flowers. A collec-
tion was made for the
Lutheran Hour.
The conveners were in
charge of the program:
"Christmas around the
world". Pastor and Mrs.
Mellecke were presented
gifts. An exchange of gifts
took place. Punch and
Christmas goodies brought
the meeting to a close.

Church Women with the choir
presenting a Christmas
salutation. Members and
guests were welcomed by
Mrs. Jack Gaiser, who then
conducted the devotions.
Following' the opening
hymn, Faye Gaiser read the
scripture and lit the candle of
hope. Lynn and Jack Gaiser
each led in responsive,
readings and lit the candles of
love and joy. Suzanne Smith
continued with a scripture
message and lit the candle of
peace.
Several Christmas hymns
were sung and Miss Laing of-
fered prayer throughout the
service. Bill Chandler favored
with a solo "Make Me A
Channel of your Peace." In
closing, Mrs. Gaiser shared
spiritual reflections from the
book of Isaiah. Everyone join-
ed in singing "Go Tell it on the
Mountain." President Mrs.
Don Gaiser, extended a warm
welcome to everyone and
thanked the members for
their support during her term
of office.
Mrs. Ken McCrae
presented the new slate of of-
ficers for 1983 and they were
installed by Miss Laing as
follows: past president, Mrs.
Don Gaiser; president, Mrs.
Syd Baker; vice-presidents,
Mrs: Harold Hendrick and
Mrs. Mervyn Tieman;
secretary, Mrs. Jim
Weigand; assistant, Mrs. Bill
Chandler; treasurer, Mrs.
Mildred Kellerman; pianist
Mrs. Ken McCrae; assistant,
Mrs. Mervyn Tiernan; card
convener, Mrs. Greta
Schade; nominating commit-
tee, Mrs. Earl Guenther, Mrs.
Harry Hoffman and Mrs.
Margaret Carroll; prayer
group chairman, Mrs. Eben.
Weigand; auditors, Mrs.
Harry Hoffman and Mrs. Let-
ta Taylor. The remainder of
the evening was spent playing
various games.
Refreshments were served by
the committee in charge.
Men's club
Dashwood Men's Club held
their Christmas meeting,
Monday, at the community
centre with their wives,
special guests and a guest
speaker, Raymond Hartman,
president, presided. Melvin
Stade led in singing 0 Canada
and Don Weigand said grace.
A hat was passed for the
caterers and Doug Johnson
thanked them. Robert Hoff-
man gave a report from the
medical centre board. Plans
were finalized for Santa's
visit. One new member, Gary
Cornish was accepted. Don
Rader reported plans had
been made to tour the water
plant in January at Grand
Bend.
Wayne Ratz introduced the
guest speaker, Doug Ellison
from Ellison Travel Servi-
centres• Exeter, who spoke

CELEBRATE ANNIVERSARY - Mr. and Mrs. Maurice
Denomme celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary
on November 15. Mass was celebrated at St. Bonifoce
Church, Zurich, then dinner at D.C.C. Open house was
held in the afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Denomme have six
children, Mrs. Fred (Rose) Bonhet, California, John, Kit-
chener, Mrs. Lorne (Madeline) Ziler, Dashwood,
Michael, St. Clements and Alphonse and Richard,
Dashwood and 16 grandchildren and seven
great-grandchildren.
