Broadway play
In September of Ihis year
students from I\leGillivray
Central School enjoyed the
play Oliver Twist performed
at the Huron Country
Playhouse in Grand Bend.
Since then under the
guidance 01 Mrs. Alice
Lingard, two complete casts
of Oliver. have been honed -
and polished for evening per-
formances December -

December l6. A euchre party was held
The story tells of the fate of Friday evening in West
an orphan boy Oliver , Mike McGillivray hall convened by
McCallum ) who rises from Jessie Lewis. Nola Lewis and

This two hour production
touches every emotional cotd,
hatred for Mr. Bumble for
selling ()liver, . the
camaraderie of Oliver and
the Artful Dodger, the pater-
nal affection of Mr.
Brownlow, tete eccentricity of
Dr. Grinnvig, the compassion
of
Mrs. 11 Beduin. n the he
biting
social sz)rcasn► and good
natured humour of Bet and
Nancy.
The heart of gold yet
desperate plight of an aging
Fagin, the loyalty of his gang
of thieves, the contempt for
the bully Bill Sikes and the
delightful choruses of the
street people selling their
various Wares.
The production would not
have .
been e 1t aS nearly

had it no been for the ntagnifi-
cant settings and decor which
immediately transports the
audience back to the era of
Charles Dickens.
Dramatic direction moves
actors and actresses effec-
tively throughout the entire
audience drawing actor and
audience together as one in a
most inspiring play.
