ET discovers Exeter Christmas
By Kelly Talbot
Grade 6, E.P.S.
It was one day before
Christmas, and 6:30 in the
morning. I was up bright
and early with my wagon
delivering the daily
newspapers. When all of a
sudden, I heard noises
that sounded like
something was landing
from outer -space. I turned
around and there infront-
of my eyes was a gold,

weird -shaped, flying-
saucer. This was only the
beginning of E.T.'s
Christmas in Exeter.
When I was out. of my
daze from discovering the
flying -saucer; I became
curious. So, very sneakily,
I crept over to the saucer.
The windows were stained
glass so I couldn't peer
through them, but I found
a .door and rapped fran-
tically on it. A moldy look-
ing creature with ruby red

Up in the sky was a star
that lighted up like a cross.
and shone as if it was a king.
There were very many stars
in the sky but only one guiding
star. Down below were two
palm trees waving calmly in
the breeze.
Off the rocky ledge and in-
to the distance was a town
which had a small yellow
light, replacing the star. it
looked as if it was a flame
that just caught on fire. This
town has many huildings but
one dome capped building.

THE BEWILDERED
MARTIAN
By Alex Lehedew
Exeter P.S. Grade 6
Not so far away is a town
called Exeter. a very
strange thing occured. Over
the treetops, of Exeter, a one
man (or thing) space ship
hovered and settled on Dells
Hill. The hatch of the space
ship opened and a little brown
figure waddled out. He had
a tall neck ands flat head. His
eyes were bigger than ours,
and he had flippers and long
toes.
The streets of Exeter were
busy with people walking in
and out of huildings but the
busiest was a little store.
After everybody was gone,
the martian went to look in
the window. Ile saw a tree
with lights that were blinking.
The lights scared him. He ran
off to his spaceship and flew
away.
• in a day or two, he came
back. The martian wandered
from store to store. Finally,
he saw a boy looking in a win-
dow. The .martian changed
himself into a human so he
wouldn't scare the boy away.
Ile walked up to the boy and
asked, "What is Christmas?"
"You don't know what

THE CHRISTMAS DONKEY
By Chris Benout
Precious Blood
Mary swayed heavily on
Hamar's back as the little
donkey truged up the slope.
"Don't worry Mary", said
Joseph. "We will find shelter
soon."
Mary reached down to pat
Hamar. "Yes little Hamar I
must find sheiter, for very
soon it will be as God has
planned."
Hamar could hear the
urgency in Mare's voice as he
started to walk faster.
Then Hamar's eyes widen-
ed when he saw the buildings'
up ahead. Buildings ment rest
and food for the little donkey.
When Joseph, Mary, and
Hamar had reached
Bethlehem Joseph stoped at
the inn. "Rest now little

Mary", said Joseph as he
went into the inn.
When Joseph came out of
the inn' he said, "There's no

in the stable where it is
warm."
Maybe it is what God has
planned," saidMary. So
Mary, Joseph, and Hamar
went down to the stable and
.Mary laid herself down on the
freshly laid hay.
Then the wind stoped as
quickly as it had begun.
A pail fell over.
And the light dimmed.
Night had fallen over the
stable like a heavy sheet of
canvas, and the hustle and
bustle of the town was quite,
and then in the stillness of the
stable a baby cried. All the
animals in the stable looked
at the baby asleep in Marys
arms. Then Hamar looked at
the baby Mary called Jesus -
and what he saw astounded
him, it was if all the stars' in
theskyhad formed into one to
hover over the sleeping
baby's head.
Hamar brayed softly and
moved closer to Mary and
Joseph, somehow he knew
that he to was part of this plan
of God's!

THE REAL MEANING OF
CHRISTMAS
By St., Boniface, Zurich
It was one minute A.D.
when the crib began to move.
Then the crib flew out of the
stable. Jesus was going to
check how people went about
Christmas.
While he was flying he met
Scrooge and decided to take
Scrooge with him. While they
were flying Scrooge and
Jesus landed on the Alps.
High on the mountaintop
they saw a small dark cot-
tage. Jesus checked to see
what was in the cottage.
• He saw a very poor family
with little to eat. Jesus felt
sorry for them and perform-
ed a miracle by filling the
table with food and drinks.
Scrooge discovered the real
meaning of Christmas. Jesus
flew back to the stable:
