VETERAN CARD -- Bob Young of Grand Bend looks at
a Christmas card which has been travelling between
two families for 37 years.
hristmas card
continues round
The true spirit of Christmas
is alive and well and has ar-
rived once *more at the home
of Bob and Pat Young. Grand
Cove Estates, Grand Bend, in
the form of a greeting card
which has been travelling bet-
ween two families .for 37
years.
The Youngs keep their
cards from year to year. As a
joke in 1946, Bob sent the card
back to Pat's sister and her
husband. The next year. the
in-laws, Evelyn and Douglas
Bennett of Weston, returned it
to the Youngs. Except for be-
ing misplaced by thelennetts
for two years the card has
been back and forth
faithfully. -
The comments onthe card
chronical the couples' lives.
Evelyn's comment in 1952
was.."found it again." An-
niversaries and children are
mentioned.
In spite of the size of the
card (about 4 by 5 inches)
there is still room for more
dates and • signatures. Bob
says he'll send it by
registered mail next year
and is surprised that it has
survived the mail Service
over the years.

that the new space behind the
old barn of the playhouse will ,
be completed to provide a se-
cond stage. Federal funding
of $40,000 has been secured.
The building was begun last
year using government
grants -in the winter -works
project. It was designed to be
insulated and heated to allow
the theatre to extend its
season.
.-Ferguson said the theatre
could now operate on a year-
round basis and also provide
a facility for other use in the
community. lire commented
that he felt the playhouse was
deserving of assistance. It
was one of the new theatres
which did not show a -deficit
last year. It operated with an
averagecapacity of 90
percent.
The newly built area will be
designed with)a relaxed at-
mosphere in mind and with a.
seating capacity of about 200.
