Manger". Miss Carolyn Love
played organ selections.

day. Choir practice will be on

The Hensall Branch of the
Canadian Legion held their
meeting on December 8th
with President Irvin Ferris in
the chair. Six new applicants
were brought to the floor and
were well received.
Membership Chairman,
Lloyd Allan, announced a
goal of 100 percent dues paid
for an early bird plaque;
withonly2l left, they are well
on the way.
Congratulations to Ted
Taylor, Bill Bell, Pat Willert
and Bill Carlile for bringing
home the Zone Euchre
Trophy. They will go on to the
District Tournament in
February.
Several donations were ap-
proved: $50.00 to ARC In-
dustries in Dashwood, $50.00
to the Heart Foundation,
550.00 to Homemakers in
Wingham. To help old-timers
buy sweaters it was decided
to pay for half the cost, which
was 5180.00. Two hours free
skating was donated.

films were shown with the

Christmas carols were sung,
led by Jan Beierling. Santa
made his usual visit with a
bag of gifts and candy, even
though his sleigh had a little
trouble getting through the
rain. Thanks to all who made
it a success.

Youth for Christ
South Huron Youth for
Christ held a very successful
rally recently in Brucefield
School with about eighty-five
in attendance from Goderich,
Exeter, Grand Bend, Zurich
and Brucefield areas. The ral-
ly - opened with lively
Christmas carol singing
followed by. the three quiz
team. The 'teams are from
Zurich. Exeter, Goderich and
Bayfield. They are quizzing
this year from 1st Timothy.
Next rally they will be quiz-
zing from 1st Timothy
Chapter 3. The Exeter team
.tied with Zurich. Group
games consisting of Basket-
ball, floor hockey, volleyball
and Swedish dart ball .

January 18th at the same

accompanied by pianist Joyce Pepper, at a Christmas party at Queensway nurs-
ing home. Rev. Stanley McDonald, who spoke a few words, is in the right
foreground. The party was organized by nurse's aid Nancy Phillips.

Church Women's• Annual
Meeting .of Hensall United
Church, held on Mbnday,
December 6 in the Fellowship
Hall. She pointed out how
allptotit the Old Testament
the details of Jesus' birth
were foretold, and how all
these predictions came true
down to the smallest detail.
God did His part by preparing
the world and now, as we
prepare for Christmas, we
should do our part by allowing
God to come into our hearts.
Mrs. Pat. Cook gave the
devotional and again referred
to the prophesies of the Old
Testament and pointed- out
how science and' the Old
Testament got together in
describing the Creation and
the light which came first.
Jesus Christ is the Light of the
World. it is faith in God that
tells us who we are, where we
came from and where we are
going.
During the meeting, past
president Mrs. Hilda Payne
was presented with a life -
membership pin by Mrs.
Diane Gerstenkorn in honour
of her past service. She gave
appropriate thanks to the
members.
The budget was presented
by Miss Mary Goodwin and
accepted. Mrs. Diane
Gerstenkorn presented the
new slate of officers and they
wereinstalled by Rev:
Stanley McDonald. Past
president, Mrs. Hilda Payne;
president, Mrs. Joyce Pep-
per; 1st and 2nd vice
presidents, vacant;
secretary, Mrs. Grace Drum-
mond; treasurer Miss Mary
