Baptismal servile
of ihamis Road
• Py MRS. WILLIAM ROHN
Thames Road
Sunday morning before the
church service commenced
music was supplied by Miss
Agnes Bray on the organ and
Bill and Rhoda Rohde on the
violin and piano.
Rev. Robert Matheson was
in charge of the baptismal
service. Mrs. Lorne Ballan-
tyne, clerk of session in-
troduced the parents, and the
children who were to be bap-
tized, namely, Laura
Elizabeth daughter * of Mr.
and Mrs. Barry E. Miller and
Ryan William son of Mr. and
Mrs. Rick Parker.
Rev. Robert Matheson told
the children a story "Send
Your Roots Deep." The scrip-
ture lesson was taken from
Deuteronomy 6:1-9, Hebrews
7:23-28, and Mark 12:28-37.
The sermon was entitled
"Wearing Our Faith Inside -
Out."' We celebrate baptism
to commemorate Jesus' own
baptism when he received the
Holy Spirit and later began
his ministry to the world.
Parents who celebrate the
presence in their own lives
have brought their children,
representing the future, to
place into God's care. Itis our
hope, of course, these
children, in later life will wish
-to confirm the vows of their
parents and this.
congregation.
We as members of the
Christian faith make vows to
assist these children to ex-
perience God in their lives
and to learn to live as Christ
desires all people to live.
May the love of God made
known to us continue to be
made known to the world
through the lives of all who
have been baptized in His Ho-
ly Name. Amen.
An official board meeting
will be held Monday
November 22 at 8 p.m. in
Thames Road Church.
