Friday afternoo, the school's senior girls won the Western Ontario Secondary Schools Association cross country team championship and Saturday afternoon on their home field the South Huron team won the WOSSA girls field hockey title. Both teams will nowadvanceto all -Ontario playoffs. The cross country runners will be in North Toronto Saturday competing against the best in the balance of the province and the field hockey girls will be at Bayview Secondary School in Thornhill for a similar championship attempt. Coaches of both clubs are confident their charges will perform well in provincial competition. Joe Fulop of the cross country team thinks his team has an excellent chance of finishing in the top 10. He feels this year's group of runners is better than the team which finished seventh in 1980. At the field hockey level, coach Jim Workman is just as optimistic. He said after Saturday's WOSSA win, "We should reach the semi-finals at least. This is the strongest team we have ever had and they should im- prove on their sixth place finish of a year ago."
