Liberal agriculture critic Jack Riddell had blasted Ashe for forcing farmers to u8e dyed kerosene in their homes to distinguish the tax- free home heating fuel from taxable farm vehicle kerosene. Riddell told the legislature the minister has caused farmers "a lot of grief and ex- pense." The dye is plugging up and ruining fuel injectors and filters and forcing the farmers to replace fuel pumps, adding to already ex- orbitant costs of home heating fuel. Riddell demanded the dye be dropped and that_ restitution be made to farmers. Ashe denied there was a problem.
