St. Boniface parish workers thanked at breakfast
A very delicious breakfast.

served to 32 members of St.
Boniface church who do
various jobs in the parish
such as, lay readers, ushers,
eucharistic ministers, etc., at
the Town and Country Bowl-
ing Lanes on Sunday as a
gesture of appreciation for
their time and trouble.
A reminder, the Christmas
Bazaar at St. Boniface school
is this Saturday, November 6
from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Everyone is welcome. There

will be a hot-dog stand, tea-
room, penny sale, bake table,
arts and crafts, a fish pond
and draws for a food basket,
a quilt and a lovely tapestry;
there is something for both
young and old!
Mr. and Mrs. John
Denomme of RR 2 Zurich
spent the previous weekend in
Windsor visiting several
members of their family.
Monday visitors and dinner
guests with the Sweeney
family were friend Lance
Reed of Newfoundland and
his mother, whom he was
visiting in London for a few
days.
The Boy Scouts and Cubs
want to thank everyone for
their donations and buying
their apples on Saturday as
they went around town. They
were pleased to make over
$100 for their efforts, which
• will be used for the club's
activities.

The children ejoyed going
around door to door for
Hallowe'en on Saturday
night, even the weather was
just perfect for them. Some
from town went to "Scare
Mare" at the house of peath
in Stratford, and some to
various house parties and
costume dances such as the
one in Stratford the previous
Saturday to help raise money
for the German Shepherd dog
club, (Louis and Leo DeBus
are members). Those going
from town were Paul and
Shirley Bedard, Tony and
Marlene Bedard, Doug and
Julie DeBub and Gerry and
Diane Thiel. The prize for the
best dressed man was won by
Doug and best dressed
woman went to Paul.
Commencement night was
held at S.H.D.I1.S. on Friday
in Exeter for the grade 12 and
13 students of last year where
they received their diplomas
and awards. Parents and
some grandparents were in
attendance, refreshments and
get-togethers with old friends
ended the evening pleasantly.
Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Rau,
RR 2 Zurich, attended the
wedding of their nephew and
godchild in Truro, Nova
Scotia on Saturday. Jerry is
the son of Mr. and Mrs.
Gerald Rau. They flew down
and stayed from Thursday to
Monday.
Congratulations to Mrs. Ar-
thur Baker who will be 97
years old on Saturday. She is
a resident of the Blue Water
Rest Home.
Mr. and Mrs. Gerard
Ducharme and Judy McKin-
non attended the autumn con-
vocation at the University of
Western Ontario on Friday
where their son and brother,
Gary Ducharme received his
Master of Divinity degree.
Doug and Ruth Oesch
recently attended a bakery
convention in Orlando,
Florida. While there they
went to Disney World and
visited with his uncle, Ken
Gingerich, in Sarasota.
Delegates for the 68th an-
nual convention of the London
area Women's Institute in St.
Marys last Wednesday and
Thursday were Ina Neeb and
Vera Thiel. It was held at the
Community Centre and was
attended by about 350
members, others attending
for one day were president,
Joan Smith, Agnes Regier, .
and Edith Hohner.
On Sunday, October 31 par-
ticipants in the Youth
Catechetical program for
high school students were
treated to a Hallowe'en
costume dance after their
regular session at St.
Boniface school. Live enter-
tainment provided by Kenny
Overholt, John Farwell and
Mark Hartman pleased the
lively group and all had a hop-
ping good time in the nicely
decorated gym. Popcorn and
pop were served.
Mike and Gen Doyle spent
a few days in Chatham
recently and attended the
wedding of his nephew, Judge
Martin Smith, in Detroit that
Saturday.
A baby shower was held for
Debbie Regier (nee Overholt)
at the home of her sister, Pat-
ti Geoffrey, on Sunday after-
noon for approximately 30 of
her friends and relatives. Deb
received many beautiful and
useful gifts. The shower was
given by her Mom and sisters.
Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Rau
spent the weekend with Al
and Georgina Bedard in
Sarnia.
A very exciting ' and in-
teresting four days were had
by some members of the

first day of the deer hunt, and
already- this morning the
Chessell party has been
lucky. Cale Doucette of Clin-
ton got a young buck.

Gwynne' Roberts will be in -

is matched dollar for dollar by.the Ontario government,
and The ,federal government contributes an amount
equal to the double figure. Thus, every dollar is
quadrupled, and all proceeds go to Compassion of
Canada todig a well in Haiti. Next collection is Thurs-
day, November 18.

Canada '82" in Kitchener over
the weekend. They were even
able to get autographs from

the competition, which they
really enjoyed watching.
While in Kitchener they
stayed at the. Valhalla Inn and
also took in a bit of shopping
at the local malls.
Those lucky enough to go
were, president of our skating
club, Mrs. Carol Deitz, her
mother, Mrs. Connie Lewis,
who is a past member of the
executive, Kerry-LynnDeitz,
Beth Sweeney, vice president,
Lori -Anne Overholt and
daughter Roxanne along with
treasurer, Maxine Peters and
Stephanie. Others going were
Alma Westlake and Heather
who attended the Friday per-
formance, and Mr. and Mrs.
Howard Daters with
Elizabeth and Sandra of RR
1 Dashwood who also took in
the whole weekend,
