The Rocky Horror Picture
Show drew a crowd of about
400 students to the high school
Friday night. The movie,bvs-
ed on the Broadway stage
,how is a 'different' musical
'hat' has over the last three
f'ars become rather 'cultish.'
The audience participates -
in the movie by showering a
_wedding couple, with rice.
dancing the "Time Warp",
creating• rain with water
pistols and hurling insUlts at ,
the villains.. Despite the title.
Rocky Horror is not a horror
movie, it is more of a wierd
fantasy:
The students council charg-
ed 52.50 admission and for the
first time this year. made
money at a social event. This
Friday, to follow up the movie
the school 'is having a Rocky.
Horror Dress Up Day..There
were many exotic costumes
in the movie for students to
copy.

Mrs. Eaton runs Storytime
for Usborne's preschoolers in
the library. She tells us that
there is lots of room for more
children to attend. The
children have a story and a
paper and paste activity.
They also have an opportuni-
ty to select a book toborrow
from the library. For dates or
further information please
contact the school at 235-0331.
The student's council,have
placed UNICEF boxes in each .
of the classrooms. Please help'
support this worthy cause.

Miscellaneous News
To celebrate Career Week,
the students of Usborne have
set aside November 2 as fiat
Day. This is a day when we all
get to wear a hat which
depicts a particular career.
We then discuss the careers
and.learn a little about them.
At the end 'of the dad the dif-
ferent occupations all parade
across the stage.
Our house league volleyball
is off to a blistering pace. In
the boys, league, Eye of the
Tiger, is leading the pack
while the girls have ,a four
way tie for first place.

Usborne Central school were
in charge of the October 22
assembly. They chose Bus
Safety as their theme: They
had invited the bus drivers,
parents, and the Usborne stu-
dent body to attend their
showing.
The reviews written by the
Grade two class indicated the
high level of performance
these actors gave in this
show.
The following are excerpts
from their reports. Friday,
• October 22 the grade 7 class at
Usborne Central school put on
an assembly about bus safe-
ty. They did it in the
auditorium. First they had a
game called Family Feud:
The teams were Biue Jeans
and the Cowgirl family. And
then Larry Miller played the
accordion.
Next was Robbie Bern
playing- the electric guitar.
And then Christine Parsons
showed us some fancy skipp-
ing. First she did normal skip-
ping. Then she did double
skipping. Next she twisted the
rope and skipped. Then some.
-piano players played. Three
kids sang and one played the
piano. The bus driveswere
there. too. They got an apple
