The movie,bvs- ed on the Broadway stage ,how is a 'different' musical 'hat' has over the last three f'ars become rather 'cultish.' The audience participates - in the movie by showering a _wedding couple, with rice. dancing the "Time Warp", creating• rain with water pistols and hurling insUlts at , the villains.. Despite the title. Rocky Horror is not a horror movie, it is more of a wierd fantasy: The students council charg- ed 52.50 admission and for the first time this year. made money at a social event. This Friday, to follow up the movie the school 'is having a Rocky. Horror Dress Up Day..There were many exotic costumes in the movie for students to copy. Her name is Miss Jewitt, We Update from Osborne thought she was very nice. She is tall, blonde and very pretty. We think that she will become a very successful teacher. We all like her very much and wish her much success. Student Teacher Grade one has enjoyed hav- ing a practice teacher for the past two weeks, October 12 to 22. His name is Kenneth For Responsible Representation in Usborne Township On November 8 VOTE Peter Berendsen for REEVE X Township of Usborne • 5 years experience on Usborne Township council • Deputy Reeve for the past two years • Active with senior citizens planning committee - • Township representative on building committee for proposed township and Ausable Bayfield -Office Beech. He lives in Stratford and commutes to London to attend Althouse College this year. He was a pleasant, effective student teacher and we en- joyed having a man in ,our classroom. She tells us that there is lots of room for more children to attend. The children have a story and a paper and paste activity. Miscellaneous News To celebrate Career Week, the students of Usborne have set aside November 2 as fiat Day. This is a day when we all get to wear a hat which depicts a particular career. We then discuss the careers and.learn a little about them. At the end 'of the dad the dif- ferent occupations all parade across the stage. Our house league volleyball is off to a blistering pace. In the boys, league, Eye of the Tiger, is leading the pack while the girls have ,a four way tie for first place. The grade seven class a Usborne Central school were in charge of the October 22 assembly. They chose Bus Safety as their theme: They had invited the bus drivers, parents, and the Usborne stu- dent body to attend their showing. The reviews written by the Grade two class indicated the high level of performance these actors gave in this show. The following are excerpts from their reports. Friday, • October 22 the grade 7 class at Usborne Central school put on an assembly about bus safe- ty. They did it in the auditorium. First they had a game called Family Feud: The teams were Biue Jeans and the Cowgirl family. And then Larry Miller played the accordion. Next was Robbie Bern playing- the electric guitar. And then Christine Parsons showed us some fancy skipp- ing. First she did normal skip- ping. Then she did double skipping. Next she twisted the rope and skipped. Then some. -piano players played. Three kids sang and one played the piano. The bus driveswere there. too. Student teachers at Stephen Central Grade 4, Room 6 - Ms. Clark was the student teacher in Room six. Peggy Clark goes to Althouse College in London. It takes four years to be a teacher. after leaving high school. Ms. Clark is in her last year. Next, year she may teach any classfrom kindergarten to Grade six. - Susan Ratz, Greg Clarke. Grade 6, Room 4 - The last two weeks room 4 has had a student teacher. Her name is Miss Carol Wuerth. Upon in- terviewing Miss Wuerth. she told . us that she enjoys. teaching and working with children. She prefers Primary classes because she has _ ` worked with preschoolers. Miss Wuerth has a favourite teaching sub- ject which is math. After high school. Miss Wuerth went to the University. of Guelph and the Teacher's College in Lon- don.
