IS A lex Taylor guest at Goshen service Goshen Church was filled on Sunday in celebration of their anniversary. Former minister Rev. Alex Taylor was.the guest preacher, and based his sermon "Why Not Give Up?" on the story of the prophet Elijah who, when. he had given up, received a message from God "not in the storm, the earthquake or the fire, but in a still small voice''. There has been talk periodically' for years of dos- ing our little churches and joining surrounding churches, but always there have been members who would not give up, even when attendance was low and the minister found it discouraging. While large revivals have their place, Mr. Taylor main- tains that the strength of the church is in the people who are faithful in quietly doing the tasks required of them. He claims if members will take their faith "out of mothballs" and put it into practise daily, including regular attendance at wor- ship, our little churches will remain strong. Otherwise we may hear "Where is MY church?" Rev. - Wilena Brown con- WE'RE OPEN THURSDAY 10 a.m-10 p.m. It's our biggest sale of the year.
