Our special thanks to the individual residents and persons who volunteered their assistance, in many ways, during and after the fire. Our sincere sympathies go out to the Grigg family for the tragic loss of their home, and other residents and businesses that were adversely affected by this blaze. Mr. and Mrs. Carroll received guests at the en- trance. She was attractively attired in a royal blue dress with a yellow rose corsage. Her two sisters, Mrs. Clifford Abbotk, Lucan and Mrs. H.A. Mulins; London poured tea. The table was covered with a lace cloth and centered with e 3 tier cake. Several friends •and neighbours assisted in serv- ing refreshments. Guests were present from Detroit, London, Komoka, Exeter, Listowel, Kirkton, Owen Sound, and Lucan. A family dinner followed at the home of their son Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Carroll, RR 1 Centralia. Many friends and neighbours spent the evening with them. All join in wishing them many more happy anniversaries. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Johnson spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Davis. Mrs. Earl Atkinson, Lucan and Mrs. Heber Davis visited with their cousin Mrs. Carrie McGavin, Seaforth recently. Mrs. Lorne Barker, Mrs. Heber Davis, Joan and Jean Barker, Bob Bone and Thomas Richardson, London and Mr. and Mrs. Gary Barker, Marla and Gwen were Thanksgiving dinner guests with Mr. and Mrs. Jim Barker Sunday evening. Mr. • and Mrs. Earl Greenlee, Rev. George and Mrs. Anderson, Grand Bend were 'dinner guests Monday evening with Mr. and Mrs. Larry Greenlee and family. Church service next Sunday at St. Patrick's will be held at 11 a.m. Mrs. Marylou Tindall, Lon- don spent the weekend with her parents Mr. and Mrs. Bob Tindall and Robert, Mrs. Heber Davis'joined them for Monday dinner. PETER MARTIN Crediton The Crediton and District Lions Club donated $500 to the Crediton Community Centre recently. A turkey supper was held Wednesday evening in the hall. The meal was prepared by the Crediton Hall Board and numerous others. Pro- ceeds went to the upkeep of the hall. UCW meets Thursday evening, members . of the United Church Women met in the Sunday School rooms. Mary Elder, Mary Draisey and Marg Wilson conducted the ' worship service "The Grace of Having Enough". Leila Finkbeiner played the piano for the Thanksgiving hymns. Rev. Brian Elder gave his report on General Council. held in Montreal this past August. A question period followed. The U.C.W. ladies are in- vited to the November 24 Women's Institute meeting. Ross Daily will be guest speaker. Jeanette Lamport gave a report on the Fall Regional held in Thames Road, October 5.
