Homemaker Month
Whereas, the Town and Country Homemakers Agency is providing a
valuable service in Huron County thus enabling many elderly, disabled
and convalescent residents to continue to live in their own homes; I do
hereby proclaim civic support for the Visiting Homemaker Month which
is being observed during OCTOBER and call on all citizens to lend their
interest, support and co-operation in making this month a success in every
way.

Nominations will be received at the Clerk's Office by the clerk of the village
of Hensall in the period commencing on Oct. 14 and concluding on Oct.
18 at 5 p.m. for the positions of:

Each of the members so nominated , if elected are to serve a 3 year term
commencing the 2nd Monday in December 1982. The required nomina-

Queensway Nursing Home to
Bingo and treats this past
week. Rev. Barbara Laing
took the worship service on
Tuesday afternoon. Twelve of
the seniors enjoyed the
seniors social at Vanastra
recreation centre on Thurs-
day afternoon. Thanks to
volunteers Iva Reid, Wilma
Kleinhaar and Sheila Riley.
Congratulations to Neil
Regan, high bowler at the
Zurich lanes on Friday mor-
ning. Thanks, Sheila for
driving.
Mrs. Irene Dunn and Mrs.
Elizabeth Faber came into
the Home on Friday and
helped the ladies .cut quilt,
blocks. Making a quilt will be
one of our projects for this
winter.
Four residents were able to
attend the Thanksgiving ser-
vice at the Hensall United
Church Sunday morning.
Thanks to volunteers Elaine,
Cecil and Ross. Thanks to all
volunteers who so willingly
give of their time in assisting
the residents.
Mrs. Vergie Williams at-
tended'church in Exeter on
Sunday morning.
A new resident, Mrs. Mary
Ann Oesch was welcomed to
the home. Mrs. Oesch's hus-
band has been a resident for
several years. Mrs. Levina
Finkbeiner is a patient in
South Huron Hospital, Exeter
and is wished a speedy
recovery.
Mrs. Britton opened the
Thanksgiving meeting of Unit
4 of Hensall U.CW. with the
poem "Giving Thanks to
God". The devotions given by
Mrs. Lemmon taken from
Philippians chapter 2 1-6
Mrs. Rena Caldwell read
the poem "November" and
the study entitled "Legacy"
although we may not have
many worldly possessions we
can through our words and
deeds pass on many beautiful
things and to beware of all the
thistles and thorns that cross
our paths. We should thank
God for all His wonderful
works and ask for guidance.

Robinson tries
for council
Jim Robinson, a five-year
resident of Hensall, will make
a first-time run for a seat on
council in the November
election.
The self-employed accoun-
tant, who has also been a
paratroor, crane operator,
driver o eavy equipment,
railroad worker and trust
company employee, will be
offering his diverse skills to
his community.
"I feel the present council
has done an excellent job, ant
I would like to add my con
tribution", he said.

Fellowship Service will be
held with someone from

guest, and also the congrega-
tion are collecting used
clothing for a bale (par-
ticularly good used or new
baby clothing) to send to
Ziare.
The fall Bible Study
Fellowship group began their
Bible study sessions on Tues-
daymorning with an ex-
cellent attendance. For the
'next eight weeks the group
will be studying the letters of
John. They meet every Thurs-
day morning at 10:00 a.m.

panied by his mother Mrs.
Carl McDonald of Listowel,
were Sunday evening dinner
guests of his nephew and
family Gary and Beth Earl of
RR 2, Listowel.

meeting of Amber Rebekah
Lodge on Wednesday even-
ing, assisted by Vice Grand
Gladys Coleman who gave the
visiting report.
Arrangements were made
for the visit of D.D.P. Alice
Bowen of Pride of Huron
Lodge, Exeter who with her
Installation Team will install
the officers of Amber Lodge
on October 20th.
Tickets are available for
the Grand Master's Banquet
at Huron Centennial school on
November 10th.
Following business "Happy
Birthday" was sung to Pearl
Shaddick, Elizabeth Riley
and Margaret Consitt and
Olga Chipchase.
Euchre bingo was enjoyed
and refreshments served by
the committee in charge.

i have hod 28 yeors of business experience,
served for six years on the Hensall School
Board, and two years on the Parks Board.
Since 1979, I have been working towards the
building of Senior Citizens Homes in Hensall,
this has been a tough project, but one which
hos been worth working for. I feel confident
we will see the end result of our effort before
long.

keep Hensall the best place to call Home,
which l have been proud to do for more than
thirty years.
