Kirktonboys beat
Formosa for title.
After dropping the first
game to Desboro, they came
back to win the next three
games to take the series three
games- to one.
This victory put them in the
finals against an excellent
team from Formosa.
Kirkton was lucky enough
to win the first game by a 4 -
3 score. Formosa won the
next two games, 3.0and 3-2.
Kirkton won the fourth
4 4 A x game by a 1- 0 score to set the
stage for the fifth and
deciding game.

tie the score in the top of the
sixth, Kirkton managed to
score one run in the bottom
and hang on for a 3 - 2 victory.
' This was an excellent series
with both teams playing
outstanding ball.
After a long season the
Kirkton bantam boys pall
team finally reached the top.
The boys began by
defeating St. Paula two
games to nothing in the first
series, and defeating Ripley

second round.
This placed them in the
semi-finals with a team from

Huron students were able to
watch a demonstration of
Martial Arts. Mr. Straughan
had invited his instructor,
Paul Chiao to explain Martial
Arts and exhibit his board
breaking ability.
Calling for volunteers from
the students Chiao did flying
leaps and broke boards
behind a student's head.
Another guest Michael
Eisenstein, normally a Lon-
don lawyer, demonstrated
some basic Martial Arts
moves. He ' and Jim
Straughan taught a number of
self-defense moves including
how to defend yourself from
attacker with a weapon.
Paul Chiao stressed the
