Family at Princess ball

Dick and Annie Zielman
and Angie, Gerald and Mary
Ellen Zielman, Ruth Zielman
and friend, attended the
Dairy Princess Ball and din-
ner by the milk marketing
committee held Saturday
night at the White Carnation
at Holmesville. Ruth has been
Dairy Princess this past year
and crowned her successor,
Marion Taylor, of Belgrave.
Weekend guests with Don,
Sharon, and Jamie Baker
were Greg and Lynn
Bockenstette, Casie, Gregory
and Jill of New Baltimore,
Michigan. They all attended
the party Saturday night for
Don's aunt and uncle, Jake
and Elsie Reder.
Visitors this past weekend
with Hugh and Annie Morenz
were their cousins Bill and
Jeanne Maier of Mio,
Michigan.
On Sunday, thirteen
Maier and Morenz cousins
gathered at a local restaurant
for dinner and a family reu-
nion. Reminiscing and
visiting were enjoyed. The
Maiers were on a stop over to
points in Eastern Canada and
then on to their winter home
in Florida.
Those attending the reunion
with the Maier's and
Morenz's were Jack and
Hazel Corbett, Hensall; Les
and Marjorie Adams, Exeter,
Blanche Chapman; London,
Howard and Muriel Maier,
Dashwood area, Mae and -
Tammy Morenz, Grand
Bend.
Ken and Ortha Baker, Don,
Sharon and Jamie Baker,
visited on a recent Sunday
with Earl and Minerva
Baker, of St. Thomas, who
were holidaying in the Pinery
Park.
Lorne and Dorothy Fenner,
Mabel and Karen Guenther
and friend, attended a 40th
wedding anniversary party,
Saturday p.m. for Clyde and
Evelyn Nicholson, of Court-
wright, held at Moore
township community hall,
with over 100 in attendance.
Sincere sympathy of this
community is extended to
Marilyn Pickering, Terry and
Glenda, Justin and Jennifer,
in the sudden death Last week
of Jack Pickering. Funeral
service was held Saturday
with his eight brothers,
James, Kenneth, Glenn,
Leonard, Harvey, Earl,
Donald, and Ross Pickering
acting as pallbearers and
flower bearers.
Lunch refreshments were
served after the funeral at
Shipka Community Centre to
more than 100 relatives and
friends.
Mrs. Alice Keller is a pa-
tient in South Huron Hospital,
Exeter.
Visiting a day last week
with Harold and Doreen Fink-
beiner were cousins, Mrs. -
Leona (Finkbeiner) Slatzer,
of North Battleford, Saskat-
chewan, and her daughter,

Calgary Alberta. Mrs. Slatzer
is 85 years old and was a one
time school teacher at the
Shipka school.
Joan Finkbeiner was
hospitalized three days last
week in St. Joseph's Hospital,
London, where she underwent
a tonsilectomy.

housecleaning day at Shipka
Community Centre on
September 30 at 1:00 p.m.

sister and brother-in-law,
Elsie and Jake Reder. Spen-
ding the weekend with
Baker's Sr. and attending the
party were Ken Jr.and Carol
Baker, Bonnie, Tracey and
Sheltie of Stratford, and San-
dra and Tony Regier, Chris,
Heather and Jillian of Detroit.
