work. project
The Pinery Provincial Park
will work with Grand Bend
council to employ about 12
unemployed persons this
winter. The unique program
was brought to council Tues-
day night by assistant park
superintendent Keith Argent.
The federal government
will subsidize the unemploy-
ment cheques and add pen-
sion payments. The provin-
cial government will add
more subsidy and pay OHIP
for the workers. Grand Bend
will find the workers and the
projects will be organized by.
the park.
Argent said that special
- money in form of a grant will
come from the provinces
BILD program. Work pro-
jects will be special projects
not regularity undertaken by
the park employees. Workers
required will include one
clerical person, a superinten-
dent and 10 others for mostly
outdoor work. He said they
plan to begin October first
and work for about 14 weeks
(until the end of January.)
Applicants must be currently
