IN MEMORIAM —
ABBOTT —.In loving memory of
a dear Mother who was taken
away so suddenly from us, August
22, 1965.
Two dear bright eyes, a tender
smile,
A loving heart that knew no guile,
Deep trust in God that all was
right,
Her joy to make some other
bright,
If sick or suffering one she knew;
Some gentle act of love she'd do.
No thought of self, but of the
other,
I know He said, "Well done, dear
Mother."
Sadly missed by Pauline, Lloyd
and family. 35C
ABBOTT — In loving memory of

If I could one lifetime wish,
One dream that could come true,
I'd pray to God with all my heart,
For yesterday, and you.
Sadly missed, Bill, Marian and
family. 35c
BILYEA — In loving memory of
a dear Aunt Shirley who passed
away one year ago.
Time slips by but memories stay,
Quietly remembered every day,
A little tribute small and tender,
Just to show we still remember.
Always remembered with love
Ron, Sherry and Jay. 35•
DYKEMAN — In loving memory
of a dear husband, father, grand-
father who passed away 2 years
ago, September 2, 1960.
Fond are the ties that are broken,
Dear is the one that is gone,
In memory we shall keep him
As long as the years roll on.
As we loved him, so we miss him,
In our memory he is dear
Loved, remembered, longed for
always,
Bringing many a silent tear.
"In silence we remember."
Fondly remembered and sadly
missed by wife Marjory and
family. 35*
PASSMORE — In loving memory
of a dear mother and grand-
mother, Edna, who passed away
August 30, 1979 and dear father
and grandfather Percy who pass-
ed away February 10, 1953.
Dear parents so gentle, good and
kind.
Look down from Heaven above.
And know that the care you
tenderly gave,
Is returned in deathless love.
Lovingly remembered by Alice,

Guided by God's loving hand,
You have gone upon a journey,
To that bnght and better land.
Always in our memory,
We seem to find the way,
To wander back and meet you,
On the road to yesterday
Always remembered and miss-

A proposal by PUC
manager Hugh Davis to con-
tinue six inch water main
along Market Street from Mill
to Huron, and installation of
a fire hydrant at the corner of
Market and Huron, received
PUC approval at the Commis-
sion's meeting yesterday.
"This will greatly assist fire
protection in that area, and
fire protection is every bit as
important as serving residen-
tial customers," Davis said.
The projected cost of
$11,000 will come from
surplus money allocated for
new services such as the
future mobile home subdivi-
sion now on temporary hold,
the anticipated surplus from
the Gidley Street work, and
working funds. (Len Veri, op-
timistic the subdivision will
go ahead, has asked the PUC
to recost the project for next
year's budget.)
In another money -saving
move, Davis reported he was
able to obtain some second-
hand transformers from
Cambridge, rendered ob-

BEST PITCHER — Dan Heywood of the Good Times
Chiefs was named the best pitcher in the weekend rec
ball tournament. Making the presentation at the left

solete for that area with a
changeover to higher voltage.
The Exeter PUC purchased
three for a total of $900; new
ones cost $1,700 each. The
transformers are guaranteed
in working order when sold.
Finding sufficient work to
keep the men busy for the
longest period of time while
staying within the year's
budget was discussed. Davis
said some jobs requiring a
great deal of costly material
would use up the funds in a
short time, and suggested
consideration of labour-
intensive projects requiring
little expenditure for labour.
His recommendation to
replace the split -bolt connec-
tors on aluminum wiring with
compression -type connectors
wars accepted. Davis assured
the Commission this will
mean fewer burnouts and
low -voltage problems.
The PUC has completed
tree -trimming at the back of
Pryde Boulevard, and would
like to finish Eastern Avenue
and Kingscourt Crescent
before winter. Doing the work
in the summer with a bucket
truck costs one-third as much
as in the winter when trees
have to be climbed, and brush
dragged to the front of the
lots, Davis said.
Before a tree -trimming job
begins, someone from the
PUC personally contacts each
homeowner who will be
affected.
"We're unpopular no mat-
ter when we do it," Davis
joked.
Replying to a letter sent by
Exeter PUC chairman Mur -
ay Greene to MPP Jack Rid-
e]] with a copy to Ontario
Hydro regarding the im-
lementation of "time of use"
ates, Ontario Hydro
pokesman Dr. David
rinkwater has promised the
people formerly busy with the
ntario Energy Board Hear-
ngs will now be able to study
is problem.
Pleas by councils and
tilities requesting a delay in
mposition of the sales tax on
ormerly exempt items like
ansformers, street lights,
oles and water . main
aterials fell on deaf ears.
ntario treasurer Frank
iller told the Exeter PUC,
mong others, he appreciated
e impact on the budgets of
unicipalities,.but could not
fer implementation, and
id all agencies and govern-
ents face reconsideration of
pending priorities.
The PUC will meet again on
