WILLIAM ROHDE Thames Rood )Mas Brenda Hodgert, whose marriage to Ivan Hern took place July 24, has been honoured recently on several occasions. Miss Sandra Hern was hostess to a surprise shower. for Brenda at her apartment in London. Misses Donna Stewart and Ruth Bray assisted. Mrs. Bob Hern, Zion enter- tained relatives at her home, assisted by her daughter Lir. da Wuerth. Brenda was presented with a basket of gifts after which lunch was served by the hostess. Tom Brock, assisted by Karen and Murton, hosted a Jack and Jill party for the Lynn family relatives. A delicious buffet luncheon was enjoyed by all present. Brenda and Ivan were presented with a shower of gifts, after which both ex- pressed their thanks to those present. Mrs. Roy Merkley of Southcott Pines, Grand Bend, entertained the Cann family relatives in honour of the bride -elect. Assisting the hostess were Mrs. Velma Bunker of Bramalea, Mrs. Linda Bunker of Oshawa, and Mrs. Jim Love of •Grand Bend, Several games and contests were enjoyed, following which Brenda was presented with numerous gifts. Brenda expressed her thanks and a delicious lunch was served during the social hour. Mrs. Ross Hodgert, assisted by Mrs. Eric Ellis, Mrs. Arnold Cann and Mrs. Rick Parker, was hostess for a Hodgert Family shower in honour of Brenda. Games were enjoyed, and readings were given by Helen Hodgert: An address was read and Brenda was presented with a humorous Bride's scrap book, and a hamper of gifts. A delicious smorgasbord luncheon was enjoyed by all. Sunday, July 18, Mrs. Reg Hodgert entertained at an "Open House" for her daughter Brenda, bride elect of July 24. Bob Matheson oondected the wedding rehearsal for Bren- da Hodges t and Ivan Hera, i4 the Thames Road • United Church. Following rehearsal, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Hera entertained at their home in Zion. Those attending the buffet alongwith the bride and groom were Mr. and Mrs. Reg Hodgert, Mr. and Mrs - Philip Knight, Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Swan, Mr. , and Mrs. Wayne Riddell,' Misses San- dra Hern, Donna Stewart; Agnes Bray, Messrs Dalton Jaques, Fred Hern, Grant and Scott Hodgert, Rev. and Mrs. Bob Matheson, Mrs. Mary Hodgert, Mrs. Gladys Hern, Mrs. Isabelle Cann, Mr. and Mrs. Ross Hodgdrt, and iGrs Amid= The Gardiner reunion was held at the KirktOn-Woodham Community Sunday with 3 people in attendance for din- ner and supper. - Guests were present froth London, Londesboro, Stage and Kirkton. Sports were con- ducted by -Paul and Betty Van der pol. Guessing games were won by Alice Gardiner, Joan Van den doll. President Howard Ross and secretary Alice Gardiner con- ducted the busihess. Mr. and Mrs. William Rohde . played the violin and pian before the . church service commenced. Many pe'e from pthis com- munity were guests at the Hern-Hodgert wedding in Thames Road Church, Satur- day and the reception and dance at Kirkton-Woodham Community Centre on Satur- day evening. Mr. and Mrs. William Rohde and Tammy Rohde had supper with Mrs. Marguerite Gibson, London Wednesday evening.
