two Hur�n women enter publishing field

Two Huron County women
have taken their knowledge
and experience in farming
one step further.
With the information of a
new partnership, Sheila Gun -
by of Dungannon and Bev
Brown of Bluevale, both of
whom have been actively far-
ming far the past twelve
years, will now be channelling
their energies into the
publishing business.
The pair, both well known
in the agricultural communi-
ty, are the principles in gun -
by brown publishers, based in
Dungannon. Flagship
publication for the new enter-
prise will be "THE RURAL

enjoy shopping jaunt

Fourteen seniors went by
van on a shopping spree in
Strathroy Friday afternoon,
this being side -walk sales
, : weekend there, and enjoyed a
tasty meal at Kenwick
restaurant.
On the return trip home,
Lloyd Roth our driver, toured
the black top back road to
Poplar Hill area where
despite hot, dry conditions
, prevail, crops look good. This
is another service for the over
60 -year-olds.
The Happy Gang euchre
will be held this Wednesday at
1:30 p.m.
Visiting recently with Mr.
and Mrs. George McEwen
and Ross were Mrs. Ella
Tweddle, Margaret Wilson
and Alice Dickens.
One of the most enjoyable
features of the Gala Days
celebrations here last
weekend was the old-tyme
music and fiddler's jamboree
organized by, Leroy Walker.
Many people took advan-
tage of a shady place to rest
as they listened to the con-
tinuous musicprovided by
local, artists both Saturday

of Parkhill and Lieury chur-
ches, while Stuart Robb,
chairman of the Middlesex
Presbytery, conducted the
servic? of installation.
Mrs. Ada Johnson, induc-
tion convener of Presbytery,
introduced Mrs. Ash to Mr.
Robb. Lunch was served,
courtesy of the U.C.W.
Earl Ross, former Nascar
rookie of the year, took over
the wheel of a race car at
Delaware International
Speedway. After sitting back
for five years, he came se-
cond in the race.
Robert and Paul Keurntjes
of Malden, Netherlands, aged
13 and 15 are visiting with the
Daigle's. Theirparents, Wim
and Truus, will\ arrive in
Canada August 7 and spend a
week here before proceeding
to Malden, Canada in Essex
County.
Wim is the clerk of a
municipality in the
Netherlands which is the
"sister" municipality of
Malden, Canada. Last
September, Chuck, Barbara
and Allison visited the Keurn-
tjes when Chuck was the clerk
of Malden township. We
welcome them to our com-
munity and hope they enjoy
their visit to Canada.

Mr. and Mrs. Robert J.
McGregor spent the weekend
in Napanee.

and Brown have been on the
editorial board of the
magazine for five years and

"We will be continuing the
format which was developed
by McLean Bros.," Brown
says, "and we will be retain-
ing the same editorial board,
most of whom are actively in-
volved in farming."
