at Shipka Community' Centre.

Ottawa, spent the weekend

munity picnic will be held
July 15, at 7 p.m. at the Com-
munity Centre. Each family
is asked to bring a pie. Hot
dogs and beverages supplied.

visit museums, ice .fields

Go West Young Man! Irvin
and I and a number of other
people seemed to have the
same idea. We went to Toron-
to, June 22 and stayed at the
Carlingview Airport Inn
where our daughter Ruthann
deNiet and her daughjer,Tina
of Willowdale met Ohs f r a
brief visit to pick up stra c-
ries and garden vege les.
We flew to Regina an were
met by Bill, Sharon and
Nathan Bennett and spent a
busy, week there. Irvin en-
joyed an afternoon of fishing
qn Last Mountain Lake. We
attended Nathan's baptism at .
Redeemer Lutheran church.
We visited three museums,
Western Development at
Moosejaw; R.C.M.P. which
was most interesting and
Museum of Natural history of
Regina.
We had supper at Wascana
Park, a beautiful place.
Returning later, we fed some
of the hundreds of Canada
geese which like and nest
there. On a sightseeing tour
we saw a herd of buffalo,
deer, ducks, many species of
birds and even a jack rabbit.
We left Regina at ten past
five and arrived in Toronto at
five to ten our time. It was a
real good holiday.
Personals
Ken and Gertie McCrae
flew to Calgary June 16 and
went on a Hanover Bus tour to
Banff, Kelowna, Victoria and
Vancouver where they visited
Butchart Gardens. They met
Ken's 'niece in Vancouver
then on to Kamloops, Vale -
mount, Jasper and Edmon-
ton. They saw the Columbia
Ice Fields and Lake Louise
and the Okanagan Valley. It
was a lovely 12 day trip.
Mr. Hubert Miller has
returned home from Victoria
Hospital where he underwent
hip surgery.
Mr. and Mrs. Joe Simpson,
Mississauga spent the
weekend with Mr. and Mrs.
Gerald Mason and Doug.
Mr. Reinhold Miller is in St.
Joseph's Hospital, London.
Mrs. Cindy Keller spent a
month with Mr. and Mrs.
Jake Martens at Red Deer,
Alberta, Vancouver and
Campbell Island.
Mrs. Aaron Restema', er
has returned home from St.
Joseph's Hospital, London.
Mrs. Erna Schroeder has
been transferred from South
Huron Hospital, Exeter, to
Queensway Nursing Home.
Hensall.
Mr. and Mrs. Irvin Rader
spent Friday with Mr. and
Mrs. Fred Miller and .girls,
Zion.
Miss Dianne, Vickie and
Lisa Miller of Toronto were
home for the weekend.
Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Rader
vacationed at Wasaga Beach
last week.
A number of children from
here are going by bus to Vaca-
tion Bible School in Zurich.
Elizabeth Datars
graduated in the Diploma
Nursing program 'of Fan-
shawe College at Victoria
Campus, June 18 and the pin-
ning ceremony was June 26.
Attending were her parents,
Mr. and Mrs. Howard Datars.
Bridal shower
A bridal shower was held on
Sunday at Black Bush School
for Miss Kathy Brintnell,
daughter -of Marie and John
Brintnell of Baden. Hostesses
were two of tlfe attendants,
Miss Dianne Miller and sister
of the bride. Mrs. ,Jane' Anne
Fenner. Kathy received
many lovely gifts and thank-'
ed everyone for coming.
