Balloons to fly, Thursday

The Happy Gang club met
on Wednesday noon when a
delicious smorgasbord meal
was enooyed along with fried
chicken.
At the euchre eight tables
were in play. Ladies winning
prizes were Jean McCallum,
Margaret Dores, and Martha
Rigney; men winners were
Laura Chapman, Martha
Rees and Bill Dores.
Next euchre will be July 14
at 1:30 p.m. September 28
the group will visit Mon-
trose, Michigan.
Mrs. Norman Riddell
(Florence Eedy) of Granton
was made welcome.
July 1 at 12 noon in honour
of Canada's birthday, the
residents of the Craigwiel
apartments gathered at the
Centre Court.
Simon Bender led in
prayer, Mrs. Currie read a
patriotic reading and John
MacDonald led in singing 0
Canada. Decorating the
Court Yard with flags was
done by Lloyd Roth and Filip
Johansen. •
The sky around here
Thursday evening July 8 at
7:30 p.m. will be filled with
500 helium air-filled
balloons released from the
hands of the contestants. One
of the contestants will be
chosen as Miss Gala Days at
the Craigholme auditorium.
Who will locate the
balloons containing a free
pass are asked to turn them
in at Gala Days winning a
prize to the person bringing
his pass the farthest distance
to Ailsa Craig?

St. James Church, Clan-
deboye will host joint ser-
vices with Lucan's Holy
Trinity far two Sundays in
July while Rev. Bruce
Pocock is on holidays. These
services will be held in St.
James Church, Clandeboye
at 9:30 a.m., July 11, the
guest speaker will be Bill
Davies of Lucan and musical
entertainment by Harold and
Gerri Fletcher, also of
Lucan.
July 18, Bob Heywood,
Crediton will be guest
speaker and will also provide
music with his accordion. An
invitation is extended to all
in the community to attend
these services.
Mr. and Mrs. Andy Vis,
and family of near Sudbury
were weekend guests of with
the former's sister, Aggie
and Pete Groenewegen and
family.
Brad Scott, Bonnie Lynn
and Tammy Noyes, from
this area were among the
graduates at McGillivray
Central School on Tuesday
evening. Janet Eagleson and
Tammy Noyes shared the
Valedictorian address.
Tammy won the Proficiency
Award, also the Math-
ematics, History, French
and Science awards. Bonnie
Lynn won the Athletic
award. Congratulations!
