Jason Heywood opened the scoring inside two minutes and Fred Steciuk with his first goal made it 2-0 a minute later. Sisavay Sengkhounmany put the game out of reach with a natural hat -trick to make it 54 Jason Heywood scored the sixth and Sisavay rounded out the first half with his fourth, There were no shots on the Exeter tiff in the first half due to good defensive plays by Danny Martens. Jason Heywood, playing his last game for ,the Gunners scored'a natural hat -trick to open second half scoring and Sivic y Sengkhounmany in number 11 after one was called back for pff-side. Stephen Cregan played his strongest game of the year in midfield, assisting on seven of the Exeter goals. New comer Mark Glavin blended in well getting two shots on net and Shawn Gillespie contributed strong running and two shots on net. Wednesday play saw the Chiefs run their undefeated streak to 10 games as they crunched Usborne 13-4, Dashwood Hotel Jet Boys downed Eteter Ford 10-1, the Derby Dip Shakers pounded Chislehutst 11-0 and Gord's downed MacLean's. One is to aid crippl- ed children; which I will supp- ly more information on later, and the other is the "Summer Salmon Search". The Summer Salmon Search is presented by The Lake Erie Salmon and Trout Club and The London Free Press. This derby will be held from 12:01 a.m. July 10 to 2 p.m. July 25 this year. The official weigh-in station will be at Stan's Marina, 244 Colbourne Street, Port Stanley. Fish Centennials win The Exeter Centennials came away with a 3-1 victory over Wallaceburg .in soccer league play, Sunday. Exeter started strong by scoring three goals in the first half. Paul Vandewalle scored the first of his twogoals on an excellent pass from forward John Van Esbroeck. A long lbw shot to the far corner beat the "Wallaceburg goalie. Shawn Rotteau beat the goalie to "a loose ball and scored into as empty net to up the score to 2-0. The third goal, areplicaof the first and was again scored by Paul and set up by John. First year player John Van Esbrceck is fitting well into the Centennial lineup. In the second half Wallaceburg came out press- ing and scored a quick •goal but it was their last. Exeter trying not to fall into a defen- sive shell started to take the ploy out of their own end. Very few chances occurred in the second half for both teams. Although- half John Flanagan went down the wing and hit the goal post from close in. It was Wallaceburg's first loss and Exeter's sixth straight win to up their record to 6-1 and take a commanding 'lead in the standings. Wallaceburg has tied three games to sit three points back. Sunday Exeter travels to Nairn at 6:00 p.m. It should be a good game due to the fact a good rivalry exists between the two teams. It is most likely that this will also be the largest fish caught thus win- ning the truck. The largest fish caught will also be mounted free of charge- by McNutt's Taxidermy. The largest trout (probably a rainbow but who knows, brown and takers are possi- ble) will win its owner a' 7.5 Honda outboard motor. The largest Coho a 7.5 Johnson outboard. The largest fish entered dai- ly will receive a Ryabi Bait Casting reel valued at 8140.00. A draw will also be held from all entrants for return air fare for two during the "Great' Salmon Ilunt" at Toronto with Peter Sticklee in his 255 Searay fishing boat. All in all there are a lot of big prizes up for grabs. The locals" won the opener 20 and were trounced 2-0 in the nightcap. In Sunday's opening con- test, Steve Pearce was the winning pitcher for Exeter holding Walkerton to only three hits over the seven inn- ing route.
