United Church
The message at Thames
Road United Church this past
Sunday was ,"Knowing,
Believing and Belonging."
For the Scripture Reading,
the account of Paul talking to
the Athenians from Acts 17:
22-31 was used.
Priorities in our lives
sometimes get muddled up,
and because of this we often
rearrange our lists so that
Spiritual involvement often is
at the bottom of the list, or
gets left off entirely.
Paul saw this same type of
confusion and misalignment
of priorities in the people of
Athens. He preached to them
about the simple truths they
were overlooking...and tried
to help put their priorties
back in line.
For . a group, : a club or
anything else...one must first
know and after gaining
knowledge, then a person can
believe.

The children's story was
taken from the story of Jesus
calling Matthew to give up his
line of work and to follow
Him. This was demonstrated
by having the children follow
Mr. Thrower as he led them
around the church.
When they returned to their
seats...it was explained that
they did follow to a degree,
but did not do everything they
were asked to do. This was
demonstrated by having .the
children follow Mr. Thrower
as he led them around the
church.
