TEMPLEMAN Mark anniversary Much reminiscing and visiting was enjoyed on Satur- day when former and present 4 -II Homemaking club members and leaders gathered for a anniversary celebration depicting 25 years of 4-H homemaking clubs in the community spon- sored by the Staffa Women's Institute: The gathering planned by the Women's Institute was held in the township hall on Saturday afternoon, May 29. Greeting the guests as they arrived were Mrs. Carter Kerslake and Mrs. Russell Worden (former) 4-11' club leaders) Mrs. George Vivian (one of the first club members and present club leader) and Mrs. Lloyd Miller Staffa Women's Institute President. Mrs. Miller welcomed everyone and opened with.the Institute Ode and Mary Stewart Collect. Mrs. Vivian then introduced Mrs. Tom Miller (Miller's Barn) Russeldale, who had set up a quilted display and told about her interest in Homemaking and how it had all began. Mrs. Kerslake introduced Mrs. Arthur Kemp who along with Mrs. Kerslake led the first 4-1-1 Homemaking club sponsored by Staffa Women's Institute, 25 years ago. Mrs. Kemp reminisced on the beginning of 4-H Homemak- ing 'in this community touching on many interesting highlights down through the years. This has grown over the years and Staffa now sponsors 4 4-H clubs. Walter McKenzie was pre- sent and showed an in- teresting film presentation on the proper way to take pic- tures. A question and answer period followed. • Mrs. ,Worden introduced former Hone Economists from Perth County, Mrs. Howard Ritchie, -Mrs. Grant Norton and Mrs. Keith Priest, who brought greetings, and our present Home Economist, Mrs. Bob Ross who updated everyone on club projects. For a change of pace Mrs. Barry Mahon divided everyone into three groups or an excercise round. Mrs. Worden introduced Rev. Davies, Stratford, a former minister at Hibbert United Church, who challeng- ed all with his interesting ad- dress on "Buying a piece of the future". I'm sure everyone present found this a most enjoyable day. Personals Mrs. Joanne Capling, Mississauga visited on the weekend with her family. Miss Rosanna Worden, Toronto and Mrs. Jim Rickard, Bowmanville, at- tended the 4-H gathering and visited with Mr. and Mrs. Bill Worden on Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Ron Rossi, Beaconsfield, Quebec, Mr. and Mrs. David Sim, Southwold and Mrs. Margaret Howard, London visited on the weekend with Mr: and Mrs. John Drake. All were guests at the Hess -Elliott wedding at Centralia United Church and the reception later at the Exeter Golf and Country Club. Mrs. Ruby Reid is home again after a stay in Seaforth Community Hospital. Mr. and Mrs. John Templeman visited Friday , with Mr. and Mrs. Eldie McNicol, London. Mrs. Garnet McLean is at present a patient in Princess Margaret Hospital in Toronto.
