Movies are taxed...beer is

These aspects are all true
and perhaps the magazine tax
is just the straw that overtax-

It is also one of those
asinine government moves
that creates little revenue for
"them" and lots of hassles for
"us"
The tax is on magazines
selectively and God and the
finance minister are the only
ones who know which'.
The government and the
rest of us are now stuck with
defining a magazine and
figuring out whether or not it
is to be' taxed:
It used to be that there
were no taxes on necessities,
but lukuries were taxed. So
does this mean that
magazines on necessities like
home and car repairs are not
taxed? (Since the govern-

our country has made it such
that you can't afford to hire
someone to do the work for
you --and come to think of it,
if you could afford someone,
there are none available,
most are broke from govern-
ment attacks on small

In the states, soft -core por-

which is why most magazines

ZPS operetta
Grade 5 to 8 pupils of the
Zurich Public School put on a
great operetta last week call-
ed "It's takes a Wizard."
The costumes were really
good and the singing, along
with all- those from other
grades (kindergarten and up)
did a terrific job, it was a nice
evening.
Another tree broken
It sure is depressing to see
another tree broken (after 5
years growth) along the main
street. (This one in front of.
the municipal building.)
The town's . council
members have already had to
replace six new trees since
spring due to vandalism!
If anyone see's who is doing
the damage they should
report them to the reeve, or
any council member. And
remember its our tax money
that. is paying for all these
new trees.
4-H achievement
On May third the parents
and friends of children in 4-H
attended an achievement
night at Stephen Central
School, Crediton. It was very
informative and interesting
(all about home made bread).
The next class will be on out-
door living.
