Two shows will be per- formed,oneat 8:00 p.m. and the otter at 8:15 p.m. Advance tickets are only $2.75 for adults and children, but at the gate will cost $3.50. So buy them early. This big event is being sponsored by the Lions club. Successful bake sale The bake sale and tea held at the Rest Home on Saturday turned out to be a big success with a total profit raised of $419.85 (including money donations) A beautiful decorated cake in the form of a butterfly made and donated by Anne Flaxbard was won by Mrs. Noah Jantzi of the Maple Woods apartments. The auxiliary would like to thank all those who worked, donated things, and all who came out to purchase the articles. • United Church hosts CWL Eighteen ladies of St. Boniface CWL were guests, at the United Church last Thursday evening along with others, and enjoyed the beautiful singing of Marilyn Zivkovic from Exeter and hearing Gwyn Whilsmith's nice talk; followed by a social hour and lunch downstairs. Knights sell rose stickers The Knights of Columbus Men were selling roses (stickers) on Mother's Day, Sunday at church to raise money and support the Right to Life, for the unborn. Personals Mrs. Florence Denomme and John and Bern Denomme returned home on April 28 after a lovely two week trip. They went by plane to Alberta where they spent a few days with Florence's son, Lester and Arlene in Trochu. They thentravelled by train to Calgary and on through the mountains to Vancouver where they visited with latter's nephew, Raymond and Dena Bedard. They did a lot of sight seeing by car to different places white there and were even on a sea boat. They went back by • train to Calgary where they then flew home. They had nice • weather while away and also visited with nephew; Tim Stark. Little Alison Margaret, daughter of Bert and Cathy MacLachlan (nee Fleming) was baptized on Sunday, May tat St. Boniface Church by Father Paul Mooney with god -parents being; Robert Fleming and Monique APting•r• Congratulations to John Paul and Barb Rau who celebrated their silver 25th wedding, anniversary on Satuf;daY. The big day began with Mass at 9:00 p.m. at St. Peter's Catholic Church then their children and spouses, parents, brothers and sisters, a total of 34 in all, gathered together for a roast beef dinner at the Dominion Tavern. This wss followed by a large reception (dance and lunch at 12:00) at the Hensall Community Centre for their many friends and relatives. It was sure a day to remember, • and may Barb and John enjoy health and happiness in the future years ahead. Our sincere sympathy is offered to the family of the late Mrs. Ethel Meyers of Blake (especially her sister Doris) who passed away suddenly at her home Thursday. Ethel was a very active member of the United Church as well as in the ladies auxiliary of the rest home and will be greatly missed by her many friends. A granddaughter for Mr. and Mrs. Russell Oesch and Mr. and Mrs. Hank Soudant, Mrs. Lottie Gascho and Mrs. Beatrice Geiger returned home on Tuesday after a delightful two week trip by plant to Wichita, Kansas visiting with friends' Mr. and Mrs. Franklin Corriveau and Mr.•and Mrs' Joseph Corriveau all of Windsor spent the weekend on the. Blue Water and at- tended the 25th celebration of Barb and John Paul Rau on Saturday as well as. several other relatives from Windsor, Sarnia, Detroit. Michigan area , London and Kitchener. Madeline Gelinas spent the previous week in Chatham with a sister-in-law, Mary DeWaele. The grade 5 to 8 `pupils of Zurich Public School are putting • on the Operetta called, "It takes a Wizard" on Wednesday May 12 at 1:15 in the afternoon and on Thursday evening, May 13, at 7:30, plus selections from other grades. Everyone welcome Family Day was observed at the United -Church on Sunday. Several mothers and children greeted people at the door. Boys and girls of the Sunday School acted as ushers and read the passages of Scripture on which the ministers illustrated sermon "Abiding in Christ" was based. Congratulations to Francis and Cindy Denomme on the arrival of their second son, 7 lbs. 2 oz. "Joseph Mat- thew" who was born on - Wednesday, May 5 at St. Joseph's Hospital. He is grandson for Matthew and Mary -Lou Denomme RR 2, Zurich and Mr. and Mrs. G.W. Garnhum of London. Christopher Peter, infant Bon of Brenda and Bill DeGroot (nee Masse) was baptized on Sunday (Mother's Day) at St. Peter's Church.St. Joseph by Father Bensette. His god- parents were Peter and Mary DeGroot of London. A baby shower was held at the home of Verlie- Lavery Thursday for co-worker Patti Geoffrey along with. new baby, "Rebecca" and her sister Kim. The shower was given by -the staff of the Blue Water Rest Home. Congratulations to Ken and Sylvia Mittelholtz (nee Merner) who were married at St. Boniface Church Mr.( and Mrs. Doug Friday evening at 7:30 p.m. Meidinger of Fort Erie were with Maid of Honor and Best up visiting with his parents, Man being Greg and Agnes Mr. and Mrs. Leo Meidinger Willert. It was followed by a reception at the home of her brother, Mr. and Mrs. ' Gerald Merner In Exeter for several friends and relatives which included a lovely smorgasbord meal. The happy couple will be living in Hensel! for the time being. Their home in Zurich is being redecorated for when they return home from their honeymoon in Niagara Falls. Mrs. Laurene Charboneau (nee Denomme) of Gross point Mi higan along with her daughter Elaine and. husband Tom Costello of Lincoln Park spent Saturday and Sunday in town andatt- ending the 25th wedding anniversary of her niece, Barb Rau and John. They also visited with her sister Mrs. Beatrice Corriveau (nee Denommel and husband Wilfred, and staying overnight at the home ofanother niece, Marie and Mozart Gelinas Sr. It has been several years since Aunt Lurene has been in Zurich. Was nice to see her Mr. Alvin Steckler is a patient in Victoria hospital, London. And Belle Merner has returned home from being a patient inSt.Joseph's Hospital.
